Mobile Toilet
Mobile toilets are portable sanitation facilities designed to meet both fixed and temporary needs, suitable for a variety of public places. They are easy to use and emphasize environmental protection and convenience.

Definition and Composition of Mobile Toilets
A mobile toilet (Portable toilet) is a facility that can be moved as a whole. It typically consists of a fecal sewage storage tank (or disposal unit), flooring, sanitary ware, walls, washing facilities, a water tank, a roof, and a mobile unit. Its core function is to enable rapid deployment and retrieval through modular design, meeting temporary or mobile sanitation needs. For example, at large construction sites or tourist attractions, mobile toilets can be relocated according to construction progress or tourist traffic, avoiding the long construction period and high costs associated with traditional toilets.
Classification and Suitable Scenarios of Mobile Toilets
Based on structural form, mobile toilets are divided into single-unit structures (independent units) and composite structures (multi-unit combinations). According to the method of movement, they can be classified as hoisting types, handling types, and powered trailer types, adapting to different transportation conditions. In terms of sewage treatment methods, they include flush types, non-flush suction types, circulating flush types, and dry packing types. For instance, flush types require a water connection and are suitable for long-term fixed locations; dry packing types collect feces using biodegradable materials and do not require a water source, often used in water-scarce areas or for temporary events. Their suitable scenarios are extensive, covering population-dense areas such as stations, docks, squares, and commercial streets, as well as temporary demand locations like villa areas and newly built residential communities.
Usage Methods and Precautions for Mobile Toilets
Taking a simple mobile toilet as an example, its internal space is approximately 1 square meter, equipped with a squat pan, a hand-washing faucet, and two black control balls. Usage steps are as follows:
- Flushing after use: Step on one of the black balls, and the squat pan will automatically spray water for flushing;
- Hand washing: Step on the other black ball, and the faucet will provide water for hand cleaning;
- Status display: The toilet door is equipped with a bolt. When pulled up, it displays "Occupied" on the outside; when pulled down, it displays "Vacant" to avoid accidental pushing.
Precautions:
- Avoid excessive stepping on the control balls to prevent equipment damage;
- For dry packing types, regularly replace the fecal bags to ensure hygiene;
- Before moving, empty the sewage storage tank to prevent leakage.
Design Principles of Mobile Toilets
Their design follows three major principles:
- Portability and cost-effectiveness: Lightweight materials are used to reduce transportation costs;
- Environmental protection: By using circulating flush or dry packing technologies, water consumption is reduced, and feces can be treated harmlessly;
- Enhancing efficiency and promoting humanity: The internal space layout is optimized to improve user comfort, and barrier-free facilities are equipped to serve special groups.
