Mobile Toilet

Admin September 20, 2026

A mobile toilet is a facility that can be moved as a whole and provides toilet services to the public. It consists of parts such as a fecal sewage storage tank, sanitary ware, and walls, and has the advantages of being movable, combinable, and easy to transport.

Composition and Material Development of Mobile Toilets

Mobile toilets are generally composed of a fecal sewage storage tank (or fecal sewage disposal device), floor slabs, sanitary ware, walls, washing equipment, water tanks, roofs, and mobile devices. Initially, they were made of materials such as wood, with a simple structure and function, and were prone to absorbing odors. With technological development, materials such as fiberglass-reinforced plastic and polyethylene have gradually been adopted. These materials are more durable and less likely to produce odors.

Classification of Mobile Toilets

  • By structural form: They can be divided into single-structure mobile toilets and composite-structure mobile toilets. Single-structure toilets are relatively simple and suitable for small-scale use; composite-structure toilets are more complex and have more comprehensive functions, suitable for places with a large flow of people.
  • By moving method: They are classified into lifting and handling mobile toilets, and powered and towed mobile toilets. Lifting and handling mobile toilets rely on external equipment for movement; powered and towed mobile toilets have their own power or can be towed for movement, offering higher flexibility.
  • By sewage treatment method: They are divided into water-flush and waterless-flush suction mobile toilets, circulating water-flush mobile toilets, and dry-packing mobile toilets. Water-flush toilets have good cleaning effects but require a water source; waterless-flush suction and dry-packing toilets do not require a water source and are suitable for water-scarce areas; circulating water-flush toilets achieve water conservation by recycling water resources.

Characteristics and Applications of Mobile Toilets

Mobile toilets can be conveniently transported to any place where toilets need to be installed and can be used repeatedly. They are suitable for stations, docks, tourist attractions, villa areas, newly built residential areas, large construction sites, squares, densely populated public places, and bustling commercial streets. Due to the shortage and unreasonable layout of urban public toilets, the government installs mobile public toilets in areas where it is relatively difficult to build fixed public toilets to make up for the shortage of toilet supply and unreasonable layout.
