Mobile Toilet, Toilet Usage

Admin September 20, 2026

A mobile toilet is a fully movable facility designed to meet the toilet needs of fixed or temporary locations.

Types and Sewage Treatment Methods

Mobile toilets can be classified into various types based on sewage treatment methods. Water-flush and non-water-flush suction types are relatively common. The water-flush type uses water flow to flush away excreta, while the non-water-flush suction type relies on a suction device for treatment. The circulating water-flush type is equipped with intermittent aerobic and anaerobic sewage treatment devices for fecal matter. The treated water can be recycled for flushing, effectively conserving water resources. This type is suitable for places with high environmental protection requirements and relatively scarce water resources. The dry-packing type has no water-flushing device. Excreta is collected in biodegradable plastic bags, which are automatically replaced and collected centrally after use. This type does not require connection to a water source or sewage pipeline, making installation and use very flexible. It is commonly used for temporary events and construction sites.

Internal Configuration

The internal configuration of mobile toilets is relatively complete. They are generally equipped with an independent toilet pit partitioned treatment system. The urine channel uses gravity for self-flow, and the feces channel is cleaned by a piston-type scraper mechanical device to ensure timely and effective treatment of excreta. The design of anti-slip floors enhances user safety, preventing slips during toilet use. Automatic flushing toilet bowls are convenient and quick, promptly flushing away excreta to keep the toilet clean. A ventilation and lighting system is also essential. The ventilation system balances the odors inside the toilet, keeping the air fresh, while the lighting system provides a good visual environment for users, facilitating use at night or in dimly lit conditions.

Special Functions and Designs

Some mobile toilets have intelligent functions. For example, the epidemic-prevention intelligent and environmentally friendly mobile public toilets used during the Winter Olympics can open doors, replace seat pads, and flush water by waving hands, reducing contact between people and toilet facilities, lowering the risk of cross-infection, and enhancing convenience and hygiene. Some double-unit mobile toilets focus on safety and hygiene, equipped with circuit breakers to ensure electrical safety, louvers to balance odors, and exhaust fans and flush tanks to provide a more comfortable and safe toilet environment for users.
