Mobile Toilet to Person Ratio
The ratio of mobile toilets to people should be flexibly adjusted according to the scale and scenario of the event. Specific configuration recommendations are as follows:

1. Small Events (Under 100 People)
It is recommended to configure 1-2 mobile toilets for every 50 people. For example, for events with up to 50 people, configuring 1 single-person toilet can meet the needs; if the number of people is between 50 and 100, 2 single-person toilets or 1 double-person toilet can be configured, and 1 spare toilet should be reserved to cope with emergencies. Such events usually last for a short time, and the frequency of toilet use is relatively low. Therefore, the focus of configuration is to meet basic needs and reserve emergency capacity.
2. Medium-sized Events (100-500 People)
It is necessary to configure 2-3 mobile toilets for every 100 people. For example, for a 200-person event, it is recommended to configure 2 double-person toilets + 1 single-person toilet; for events with more than 300 people, the number of toilets should be increased to 4-5. It is recommended to configure the male-to-female ratio at 1:1.5, that is, the number of female toilets is more than that of male toilets to alleviate queuing problems during peak hours. In addition, 1 accessible toilet should be provided to facilitate use by people with disabilities or those with mobility issues. Medium-sized events usually last for several hours, and it is necessary to balance usage efficiency and comfort.
3. Large Events (Over 500 People)
Configure 3-5 mobile toilets for every 100 people. Taking a 1000-person event as an example, it is recommended to configure 3 double-person toilets + 3 single-person toilets + 1 accessible toilet, and add temporary hand-washing stations during peak hours to improve hygiene conditions. Large events have a large flow of people and concentrated use. It is necessary to reduce queuing time by increasing the number of toilets and dispersing their layout, while reserving spare capacity to cope with equipment failures or sudden increases in the number of people.
4. Special Scenarios
- Long-term use scenarios such as construction sites and scenic spots: Configure 1 toilet for every 30-50 people, taking into account durability and maintenance convenience.
- Campgrounds: It is recommended to configure 1 toilet for every 20 people. It is better to have shower rooms, and reserve 10% spare capacity to cope with equipment failures or sudden increases in the number of people.
- Specific events such as large music festivals: For example, at the Changde Music Festival, it is usually necessary to configure 10-12 toilets for every 1000 people, with a male-to-female ratio of approximately 1:1.2-1:1.5, and reserve 5%-10% spare capacity to ensure service capacity during peak hours.
Configuration Principles: The number of toilets should be dynamically adjusted according to the duration of the event, population characteristics (such as gender ratio and age structure), and site conditions. Priority should be given to meeting basic needs, and then the user experience should be improved through spare capacity and auxiliary facilities.
