Mobile Toilet Squat Size

Admin October 09, 2026

The common sizes and related requirements for squat positions in mobile toilets are as follows:

I. Squat Pan Sizes There are two common types of squat pan sizes in mobile toilets:

  1. Squat pans without a trap: Length: 525 mm, Width: 430 mm, Height: 200 mm. These squat pans have a relatively simple structure and are suitable for scenarios with lower requirements for drainage slope. However, regular cleaning is required to prevent odor backflow.
  2. Squat pans with a trap: Length: 525 mm, Width: 460 mm, Height: 250 mm. The design of the trap can effectively isolate sewer odors and enhance the user experience, but it takes up slightly more space and needs to be selected according to the overall layout of the toilet.

II. Installation Space Requirements Sufficient activity space should be reserved during the installation of squat pans to ensure user comfort and safety:

  1. Distance from the wall: The distance from the center of the squat pan to the walls on both sides should be 200 - 250 mm. This range can prevent the user's legs from colliding with the walls and is also convenient for cleaning and maintenance. If space is limited, the minimum distance should not be less than 180 mm; otherwise, it may affect user convenience.
  2. Space reserved in front: The distance from the front edge of the squat pan to the opposite wall should be ≥ 500 mm. This space is used for the user to place their legs, stand, and turn around. Insufficient reservation will lead to cramped movement and may even cause safety hazards.

III. Design Considerations

  1. Drainage slope: When installing a squat pan, the ground should be tilted 1% - 2% towards the drain to ensure rapid drainage of sewage and prevent water accumulation.
  2. Anti-slip treatment: Anti-slip materials should be used for the ground around the squat position to reduce the risk of users slipping, especially in humid environments.
  3. Ventilation design: Mobile toilets should be equipped with a ventilation system. Combined with the trap structure, it can effectively reduce odor accumulation and improve hygiene conditions.

IV. Suggestions for Suitable Scenarios

  1. Temporary event venues: For events such as exhibitions and concerts, it is recommended to use squat pans without a trap to save space and simplify the installation process.
  2. Long-term use venues: For venues such as construction sites and scenic spots, it is advisable to choose squat pans with a trap and strictly follow the space reservation standards to ensure durability and comfort.

Reasonable planning of squat pan sizes and installation space is the key to ensuring the functionality and user experience of mobile toilets. During the design process, it is necessary to comprehensively consider usage frequency, population characteristics, and environmental conditions to achieve a balance between hygiene, safety, and efficiency.
