Renovation of Mobile Toilets Using Old Items
Admin September 22, 2026
The renovation of mobile toilets using old items combines creative design with practical functionality, transforming waste materials into new facilities that are both environmentally friendly and cost-effective.

1. Creative Renovation of Old Toilets
Old toilets are common “old items” in mobile toilet renovations and can be repurposed in the following ways:
- Planter Containers: Remove the toilet tank, retain the seat ring, fill with soil, and plant drought-resistant plants (such as succulents and cacti) to create a unique vertical greening device. If the toilet is intact, it can be used directly as a large planter for small shrubs or flowers.
- Storage Units: If the toilet structure is intact, it can be cleaned and disinfected for use as an outdoor tool storage box, holding cleaning supplies, gardening tools, etc. The tank section can be fitted with a lid for storing small items.
- Art Installations: Combine graffiti or mosaic techniques to transform old toilets into decorative pieces for public spaces, such as using them as bases for signposts after painting or combining them with other waste items to create sculptures.
2. Reuse of Waste Panels
If the walls or partitions of mobile toilets are made of wood or metal panels, they can be repurposed as follows during renovation:
- New Partitions: Cut and sand the panels, then reassemble them to divide the interior space of the toilet (such as for male and female stalls or barrier-free areas) or as external barriers to enhance privacy.
- Storage Shelves: Use the panels to build multi-tiered shelves for storing toilet paper, cleaning agents, and other consumables, or as a platform for users to temporarily place items.
- Decorative Panels: If the panel appearance is intact, retain the original surface or apply a simple coating to serve as a decorative wall inside the toilet, enhancing aesthetics.
3. Practical Renovation of Waste Pipes
Metal or plastic pipes, such as drainage pipes, can be repurposed as:
- Ventilation System Components: Cut and bend the pipes, then connect them to a fan to form a simple exhaust duct, improving air circulation inside the toilet.
- Handrails or Hooks: After rust-proofing, metal pipes can be used as handrails for barrier-free facilities or welded into hooks for hanging towels, clothing, etc.
- Irrigation Systems: If there are green areas near the mobile toilet, waste pipes can be transformed into drip irrigation systems to achieve water resource recycling.
4. Comprehensive Utilization of Other Old Items
- Old Tires: Cut them and fix them as bumpers in the corners of the toilet or fill them with soil for use as outdoor planters.
- Waste Glass: Grind the edges and inlay them as windows or combine them into decorative walls to increase light transmission.
- Waste Electrical Appliance Shells: Metal cases, such as those from electrical appliances, can be repurposed into tissue boxes, trash cans, and other small facilities.
Renovation Principles: Ensure that the materials are non-toxic, structurally sound, and comply with hygiene standards. Thoroughly clean and disinfect before renovation to avoid residual contaminants affecting usage safety.
