Does a Mobile Toilet Consume Much Electricity?

Admin September 27, 2026

The power consumption of mobile toilets is generally not high, with specific values varying depending on the type and function. Here is a detailed analysis of the power consumption of different types of mobile toilets:

Microbial Degradation Mobile Toilets: These toilets use microorganisms to decompose waste, requiring a certain amount of electricity to support equipment operation during the process. A microbial degradation mobile toilet suitable for a family of six consumes an average of about 0.8 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity per day. Its power consumption is relatively stable, mainly depending on the power of the equipment itself and the daily usage duration. Under normal usage conditions, it does not generate high electricity costs.

Foam Sealing Mobile Toilets: This type of toilet uses foam to block odors and reduce water usage. Some products can consume as little as 0.5 kWh of electricity per day and can operate with low energy consumption in milder environments. However, in winter, to prevent components such as water pipes inside the equipment from freezing, anti-freezing measures need to be taken, which can increase power consumption, possibly up to 1.5 kWh.

Flush Mobile Toilets (Equipped with Energy-Saving Technology): With the development of energy-saving technology, some flush mobile toilets have reduced energy consumption by optimizing flushing systems. Some products can control daily power consumption between 0.3 and 0.5 kWh, effectively reducing electricity consumption while ensuring normal flushing functions.

Smart Toilet Mobile Toilets: The average daily power consumption of ordinary smart toilets ranges from 0.2 to 0.5 kWh, depending on the functional configuration and usage frequency. If a smart toilet has more functions, such as heated seats and warm air drying, and is used frequently, its power consumption will be relatively high; conversely, if the functions are simple and the usage frequency is low, the power consumption will be lower.

In addition, the rated power per toilet stall for energy-saving/ordinary mobile toilets in eco-friendly public toilets is usually ≤5W, with a daily power consumption of about 0.5 kWh per stall per day, which may increase to 1.5 kWh per stall per day in winter for anti-freezing purposes. Overall, the power consumption of mobile toilets is at a low level and does not impose a significant electricity burden on users.
