How to Connect Power to a Mobile Toilet
The method of connecting power to a mobile toilet depends on the power supply mode, which commonly includes external power supply, battery power supply, and hybrid power supply. Here are the specific operations and precautions:

1. External Power Supply Mode Connection Operation
This mode is suitable for scenarios with stable power access, such as city squares and exhibition sites. It requires connecting to the municipal power grid or a temporary generator. The wire specifications must match the equipment power: Temporary cables should be waterproof and sun-resistant. If the length exceeds 10 meters, a leakage protector should be installed. The distribution box should be installed in a dry and ventilated place, with a rainproof box body. The rated current of the internal circuit breaker should match the equipment power, and unauthorized connections or overloading are strictly prohibited. For example, if the total power of the mobile toilet is 5kW, a copper core cable of no less than 6mm² should be selected, and a 32A circuit breaker should be configured.
2. Battery Power Supply Mode Connection Operation
This mode is suitable for areas without a power grid, such as remote scenic spots and temporary events. Lead-acid batteries or lithium batteries are used to store electrical energy, and the independent power supply time is usually 8-24 hours. Before connecting, check the battery charge level and voltage: Lithium batteries need to be replaced every 2-3 years, and lead-acid batteries need to be replenished with distilled water every 6 months. When connecting, ensure that the positive and negative terminals are firmly connected to avoid short circuits. For example, a 12V/200Ah lead-acid battery pack can power a low-power mobile toilet for about 12 hours. Regularly detect the battery internal resistance, and replace it promptly if the internal resistance exceeds 50% of the initial value.
3. Hybrid Power Supply Mode Connection Operation
This mode combines solar power, battery power, and external power supply, and automatically switches the power supply mode through an intelligent controller. Solar power is preferred during the day, and the solar panels should be kept clean (wipe off dust every month and remove snow in winter). At night, it switches to battery power, and in extreme cases, it connects to external power. When connecting, ensure that the grounding system is effective: The grounding resistance should be controlled within 4Ω. The grounding body should be made of galvanized steel pipes or angle steel, with a burial depth of no less than 0.6 meters. Detect the grounding resistance every quarter, and re-bury the grounding body if it exceeds the standard.
4. Safety Precautions
- Operator Qualification Requirements: The lessee should choose a unit or individual with formal power construction qualifications for the operation and clearly define the power responsibility division in the contract.
- Grounding Protection: All mobile toilets must be reliably grounded, and the burial depth and material of the grounding body should meet the standards to avoid safety accidents caused by leakage.
- Daily Inspection: During the leasing period, check daily whether the wire connectors are loose and whether the cables are damaged. After rain, focus on checking for leakage. If the outer sheath of the cable is damaged, replace it immediately or wrap it with insulating tape for treatment.
