Mobile Toilet Microbial Treatment
Mobile toilet microbial treatment is a technology that achieves harmless and resourceful treatment of excreta through the decomposition by specific microbial communities. Its core mechanisms cover technical principles, microbial community adaptation, carrier design, gas-liquid balance control, and operation and maintenance management.

Technical Principles: Microbial species such as Bacillus and Pseudomonas are introduced into microbial fermentation chambers. Under controlled temperature conditions (30-50℃) and regular stirring (2-3 times per day), excreta are decomposed through fermentation, with a degradation rate exceeding 90%. Some of the residual matter can be converted into organic fertilizer, enabling resource utilization. The treatment process relies on a stable power supply (power ≤ 500W) to maintain environmental conditions and ensure microbial activity.
Microbial Community Adaptability: The proportion of microbial species needs to be customized according to the usage environment. For example, heat-resistant species are selected for high-temperature and high-humidity areas, while cold-adapted species are chosen for low-temperature construction sites to accommodate different climatic conditions. The replacement cycle for microbial species is 3-6 months, with a cost of approximately 300-500 yuan per toilet unit. Regular replenishment is required to maintain decomposition efficiency.
Carrier Design: Microorganisms need to adhere to solid carriers such as porous ceramics, activated carbon, or synthetic fibers to stably decompose waste. The carrier material must match the characteristics of the microbial species, such as corrosion resistance and adsorption capacity, and adapt to differences in water quality. For example, in some areas of Hubei where groundwater hardness is high, anti-scaling carriers are selected to prevent blockage.
Gas-Liquid Balance Control: A segmented aerobic system is employed, with timed oxygen supply through aeration pipelines to maintain the dominance of aerobic microbial communities and inhibit the production of malodorous gases such as methane and hydrogen sulfide from anaerobic fermentation. This design reduces odor diffusion and enhances the user experience.
Operation and Maintenance Requirements: Microbial species need to be added monthly, and the temperature and stirring frequency of the fermentation chamber must be regularly maintained to ensure stable treatment effects. The waste removal cycle is extended to 15-30 days, but professional operation is required to avoid microbial community imbalance. Long-term operation and maintenance can save on waste removal costs and significantly reduce fecal waste volume.
Applicable Scenarios and Advantages: This technology is suitable for scenarios such as fixed scenic spots and long-term campsites that have a stable power supply and require reduced waste removal frequency. Its environmental performance complies with the GB/T 18092-2008 standard. The price of a single unit ranges from 15,000 to 30,000 yuan. Although the initial investment is relatively high, long-term operation and maintenance costs are low, and the residual matter can be utilized as a resource, avoiding the reliance of traditional toilets on chemical agents or regular waste removal.
