Mobile Toilet Foundation Treatment
Admin September 22, 2026
The foundation treatment of mobile toilets requires comprehensive consideration of multiple factors such as bearing capacity, flatness, and stability. The specific treatment methods are as follows:

I. Basic Requirements
- Bearing Capacity: The foundation needs to determine the bearing standard according to the type of mobile toilet. Lightweight toilets require a bearing capacity of about 100 kPa, while large combined toilets require a higher capacity. The specific value needs to be calculated based on the toilet size and usage load. Insufficient foundation bearing capacity can easily lead to sinking or tilting.
- Flatness: The surface error of the foundation should be controlled within ≤20 mm per square meter to avoid shaking or loosening of connection parts after toilet installation, which affects safety and service life.
- Stability: Avoid areas prone to geological disasters such as landslides and mudslides. For soft soil foundations, methods such as replacement, compaction, or pouring concrete bases should be used to increase density and prevent uneven settlement.
- Size and Surface Quality: The foundation size should be slightly larger than the bottom outline of the toilet, with space reserved for installation and maintenance around it; the surface should be solid and crack-free to prevent crack expansion from affecting bearing capacity.
- Corrosion Protection: In corrosive environments such as seaside areas, the foundation should use corrosion-resistant materials or coatings to prevent structural damage caused by seawater erosion.
II. Treatment Methods for Different Ground Surfaces
- Mud Ground: First, compact the soil and lay a 10-15 cm thick gravel cushion to enhance stability; for soft soil or backfilled areas, pour a concrete base or set up prefabricated cement piers for reinforcement.
- Hardened Ground (such as concrete): Check the flatness of the ground to avoid tilting that could cause deformation of the toilet structure; if there are cracks or damage on the ground, repair them before installation.
III. Key Steps in the Construction Process
- Site Cleaning: Remove weeds, debris, garbage, etc., to ensure the construction area is clean and tidy.
- Determine Depth and Area: Design the foundation depth and area according to the toilet size and weight, and lay a concrete ground to enhance stability.
- Foundation Hardening: Compact the base soil surface (compaction degree ≥90%), pour a 10-15 cm thick C20 concrete cushion, with the cushion area extending at least 30 cm beyond each side of the toilet's bottom outline; when the construction period is tight, prefabricated reinforced concrete slabs or steel roadbed boxes can be used instead of cast-in-place concrete, and connected with fasteners.
- Drainage Design: Reserve a 2%-3% drainage slope on the foundation surface, sloping towards the catch basin on the side of the sewage outlet to prevent the accumulation of flushing water.
