Mobile Toilet Floor Renovation
The renovation of mobile toilet floors should be handled differently depending on whether it involves toilet relocation. The specific methods are as follows:

I. Renovation plans involving toilet relocation
Toilet relocation requires selecting methods based on the drainage type, with different drainage methods having different renovation focuses:
Inter-floor drainage
- Toilet position shifter: Suitable for short-distance (100-300mm) relocation. It is necessary to chisel out the floor slab to a depth of 20-40mm, embed the position shifter, and then successively carry out floor leveling, waterproof layer construction (with a height of about 20mm), and tile laying (with a height of about 30mm). Note: The maximum relocation distance of the position shifter should not exceed 40 centimeters. Exceeding this limit can easily cause blockages, and the floor needs to be raised.
- Wall-mounted toilet: Relocation is achieved by re-laying the sewage pipe (connecting from inside the wall to the main sewage pipe). The water tank is hidden in the wall, eliminating the need to raise the floor while ensuring pipe sealing to prevent leaks.
- Platform renovation: Relocation is achieved by raising the toilet area (to a height of about 10-15cm) to form a slope. However, this will create a local platform, and the aesthetic appeal and practicality of the space need to be considered.
Sunken drainage
The pipeline is located inside the home's sunken box, allowing for free adjustment of the pipeline direction. If relocating by 60cm and not wanting to raise the floor, the original sewage pipe can be directly modified. However, a concealed floor drain for drainage needs to be reserved, and secondary waterproofing should be carried out on the original floor and after backfilling (the height of the waterproof layer should cover the pipe joints and the bottom of the sunken box) to prevent leaks caused by pipeline modifications.
II. Renovation plans for floor refinishing only
If there is no need to move the toilet, you can refer to the low-cost renovation methods for renters:
- Material selection: Use tile paint (such as Sanqing Paint) to paint the old floor, choosing light colors (such as off-white, light gray) to enhance the brightness of the space.
- Operation steps:
- Protective treatment: Use masking tape to protect edge areas such as the toilet and wall corners to prevent paint contamination.
- Cleaning treatment: Thoroughly clean the tile surface, using a special cleaning agent to remove oil stains and scale, ensuring paint adhesion.
- Painting construction: Apply the tile paint evenly in 2-3 coats, with an interval of 2-4 hours between each coat to avoid runs or color differences.
- Precautions: After painting, keep the area well-ventilated for more than 48 hours to prevent contact with water or heavy objects before the paint is dry.
Core principles of renovation: For toilet relocation, it is necessary to first confirm the drainage type. For inter-floor drainage, strictly control the relocation distance, while for sunken drainage, the pipeline can be adjusted flexibly. For floor refinishing, pay attention to surface cleaning and paint selection to ensure durability and aesthetic appeal.
