Fault Analysis of Mobile Toilets

Admin October 08, 2026

The following are common faults of mobile toilets and their troubleshooting methods:

I. Water Leakage
Water leakage is mainly caused by aging, damage, or improper installation of the sealing ring. Troubleshooting methods:

  1. Check the condition of the sealing ring. If it shows signs of aging, cracking, or deformation, replace it with a new one, ensuring the material matches the original component.
  2. Check if the connections between the water tank and pipes are loose. Use tools like a wrench to tighten the connections to prevent displacement due to vibration.
  3. Clean the inside of the water tank to remove accumulated sediment, scale, and other foreign objects, preventing blockage of the drainage outlet or corrosion of the sealing parts.

II. Blockage
Blockages are often caused by littering or dropped items, commonly occurring in the water tank, waste bin, and pipes. Troubleshooting methods:

  1. Clean the waste bin: If waste is compacted, completely empty the bin and check if the bin structure is deformed, causing poor drainage.
  2. Unclog the pipes: Use a professional unclogging tool or a high-pressure water gun to flush the pipes. If foreign objects are stuck (e.g., plastic bottles, cloth), disassemble the squat toilet or pipes to remove them. If the pipes are severely damaged, replace them with new ones.
  3. Replace the flush valve: If the flush valve seal fails or the valve body cracks, resulting in weak flushing or water leakage, replace it with a valve of the same model.

III. Odor
Odors originate from waste decomposition, pipe scale buildup, or poor ventilation. Troubleshooting methods:

  1. Add deodorizers: Place biodegradable deodorizers in the waste bin or spray diluted mouthwash (containing mint ingredients) to mask the odor.
  2. Deep cleaning: Rinse the inner walls of the pipes with disinfectant to remove urine scale, fecal residue, and other dirt. Regularly clean hidden areas such as floor drains and ventilation openings.
  3. Place adsorbent materials: Place activated carbon bags or bamboo charcoal bags in the corners of the restroom. Their porous structure can adsorb odor molecules. Replace them regularly to maintain effectiveness.

IV. No Water in the Sink
For mobile toilets that rely on water tank supply, a lack of water in the sink can occur if the water tank is empty. Solution:
Check the water level in the tank and replenish it with clean water in a timely manner. If the automatic water replenishment device in the tank fails (e.g., the float valve is stuck), repair or replace the replenishment components.

V. Abnormal Noise from the Exhaust Fan
Abnormal noise is usually caused by worn fan bearings or insufficient lubrication. Solution:

  1. Add lubricating oil: Drip special lubricating oil (e.g., sewing machine oil) into the fan bearings to reduce friction noise.
  2. Replace the fan: If the fan blades are deformed, the motor is burned out, or the bearings are severely worn, replace it with a fan of the same specification to ensure ventilation efficiency.

VI. Door Lock Failure
Door locks are prone to wear due to frequent use, resulting in a stuck latch or failure to retract. Solution:
Directly replace the lock cylinder or the entire door lock assembly to avoid secondary failures caused by repairs. Ensure the lock body is aligned with the door frame during installation to reduce usage resistance.
