Mobile Toilet Door Glass Replacement

Admin September 28, 2026

The replacement of the glass on the door of a mobile toilet can be carried out according to the following steps:

I. Cleaning and Measurement
First, thoroughly clean up the broken glass shards to avoid skin cuts during operation. Use a tape measure to accurately measure the width, height, and glass slot depth of the door frame, and record the key dimensional data. If the door frame is deformed, it should be corrected first before measurement to ensure that the new glass fits properly.

II. Removal of the Old Glass

  1. Dismantling the Door Panel: Use a screwdriver to remove the fixing screws of the hinges on the door frame and separate the door panel from the frame. If the hinges are rusted, spray a rust remover to assist in dismantling.
  2. Extracting the Glass: Use a utility knife to cut along the adhesive joint between the glass and the door frame to separate the broken glass layer. If the glass is embedded in a rubber slot, use a flat-head screwdriver to pry the edge of the rubber strip and gradually extract the glass. Wear cut-resistant gloves during operation to prevent cuts from glass fragments.
  3. Cleaning Residues: Use sandpaper to sand the residual glass glue or sealant inside the door frame to ensure a flat and smooth installation surface.

III. Selection of New Glass
Choose the type of glass based on the measured data:

  • Ordinary Tempered Glass: It is recommended to have a thickness of 8-12mm and should comply with the national 3C certification standard.
  • Laminated Glass: If explosion-proof functionality is required, double-layer laminated glass can be selected to enhance safety.
  • Customized Glass: If the size is special, contact a glass factory for cutting according to requirements. Confirm whether the glass edges are to be ground.

IV. Installation of New Glass

  1. Pre-treatment of Glass: Wipe the edges of the glass and the installation surface of the door frame with alcohol wipes to remove oil and dust.
  2. Fixing the Glass:
    • Method 1: Stick double-sided tape on the edges of the glass. Two people collaborate to vertically place the glass into the door frame slot and gently press to ensure the tape adheres firmly.
    • Method 2: Insert the glass from top to bottom into the rubber slot and gently tap the edges of the glass with a rubber mallet to fully seat it.
  3. Sealing Treatment: Apply neutral silicone glass glue at the joint between the glass and the door frame, with the glue joint width controlled at 3-5mm to ensure sealing and moisture resistance.

V. Assembly and Adjustment

  1. Reinforcing the Door Frame: Use a screwdriver to reinstall the fixing screws around the door frame to ensure the frame is stable and not loose.
  2. Installing the Hinges: Align the door panel with the door frame, fix the hinges with a rivet gun, and adjust the opening angle of the door panel to 90° to ensure smooth opening and closing.
  3. Function Testing: Open and close the door 3-5 times repeatedly to check if the glass is shaking and if the door gap is uniform. If there are any abnormalities, readjust them.

VI. Final Inspection

  1. Cleaning: Wipe the door frame and the glass shards on the ground with a damp cloth to keep the environment clean.
  2. Sealing Inspection: Observe whether there is light leakage at the joint between the door frame and the wall. If necessary, apply additional sealant.
  3. Safety Confirmation: Ensure that the glass is installed firmly and there are no exposed sharp edges to avoid usage risks.
