Illustrated Guide to Mobile Toilet Disassembly

Admin October 22, 2026

The disassembly of the toilet seat cover in mobile toilets mainly falls into two types of structures: traditional bottom-lock and top quick-release. The specific steps are as follows:

I. Disassembly of Traditional Bottom-Lock Toilet Seat Cover

  1. Locate the Fixed Nuts
Squat down and observe the back of the toilet. Find the two plastic or metal nuts located at the lower part of the back of the toilet. Some nuts may be covered by dust covers, and a flat-head screwdriver is required to pry open the dust covers to expose the nuts.

  2. Loosen the Nuts
Use one hand to press down on the screw head of the toilet seat cover's fixed base from above (to prevent it from rotating), and use the other hand to place an adjustable wrench or socket tool over the nut below and turn it counterclockwise to loosen it. If the space is narrow (for example, if the toilet is too close to the wall), a long-handled wrench or an extension tool can be used for assistance.

  3. Remove the Cover Plate
After both nuts are loosened, directly lift the toilet seat cover (usually including the seat ring and the cover plate) upwards to separate it from the toilet. If disassembly is difficult, check for residual glue or foreign objects that may be blocking it.

II. Disassembly of Top Quick-Release Toilet Seat Cover

  1. Find the Disassembly Mechanism
Observe the upper part or the side of the connection between the toilet seat cover plate and the base to look for buttons, sliders, or hidden latches. For some smart toilet seat covers, the disassembly mechanism may be located in the side gaps, and careful touching or gentle prying with a screwdriver is required.

  2. Operate the Mechanism
Press the button, slide the slider, or release the latch. For smart toilet seat covers, it may be necessary to hold down the release button while applying an upward or backward force. Avoid using excessive force during operation to prevent damage to the mechanism.

  3. Remove the Cover Plate
Directly lift the entire unit slightly upwards or pull it out backwards. For some models, two-handed operation is required (for example, holding down the base with one hand and lifting the cover plate with the other). If there are still wire connections after the cover plate is separated from the base, disconnect the wires before completely removing it.

III. Supplementary Steps for Smart Toilet Seat Covers (If Internal Disassembly is Required)

  1. Remove the Fixed Screws
Find the eight screws on the back of the toilet seat cover and remove them one by one with a screwdriver. The screws may be hidden under rubber plugs or decorative covers, and the coverings need to be removed first.

  2. Separate the Back Cover
Gently tap the edge of the back cover with your hand (avoid directly pulling and breaking the internal wires), and unplug the wires one by one. It is recommended to take photos to record the wire positions before disassembly for easy reassembly later.

Precautions

  • Tool Preparation: Adjustable wrench, socket tool, screwdriver, rubber gloves, plastic bags (for storing small parts).
  • Safe Operation: Close the toilet's water inlet angle valve and drain the remaining water in the tank. For smart toilet seat covers, unplug the power cord to avoid the risk of electric shock.
  • Quick Self-Check: If protruding nuts are visible at the back of the toilet, it is a traditional bottom-lock type; if buttons or gaps are seen, it is a top quick-release type.
