Admin September 22, 2026

The disappearance of mobile toilets from a waste disposal company in Germany was a case of internal theft, with two men involved sentenced to suspended imprisonment by the court, also facing the risks of job loss and compensation.

Incident Details

Mobile toilets from a waste disposal company in the western German city of Düsseldorf kept disappearing, with over 100 lost in total over several months. Investigation revealed that there were internal thieves within the company. The two men involved sold the stolen mobile toilets to a Dutch company through intermediaries. After the buyers from the Dutch company came to inspect the goods, they transported the mobile toilets away in batches.

Value of the Stolen Goods

The total value of the stolen mobile toilets was approximately 70,000 euros, which was equivalent to about 556,000 yuan at the exchange rate at that time. The theft of such a large number of mobile toilets not only caused direct economic losses to the company but also potentially affected its normal business operations, such as being unable to provide mobile toilet services in a timely manner at some events or venues.

Court Ruling

The local court tried the case and made a ruling. The judge sentenced one man to 10 months' imprisonment with a suspended sentence and the other man to 6 months' imprisonment with a suspended sentence. A suspended sentence means that within a certain probation period, if the individuals involved comply with relevant regulations and do not commit any further illegal or criminal acts, they may not have to actually serve their prison sentences. However, this still leaves a criminal record on their lives.

Subsequent Impact

In addition to facing legal sanctions, the two men involved also lost their jobs. Due to the significant losses their theft caused to the company, the company naturally would not retain them. Moreover, they may also face compensation issues, being required to compensate the company for the economic losses caused by their theft, which will undoubtedly bring considerable economic pressure to their future lives.
