The Craftsmanship Spirit in Mobile Toilets

Admin September 21, 2026

The craftsmanship spirit in the field of mobile toilets is primarily manifested in three aspects: innovation and breakthrough, dedication and perseverance, and responsibility and commitment.

Innovation and breakthrough are the core driving forces of the craftsmanship spirit in mobile toilets. Geng Jiasheng, as a 'Master Craftsman of the Nation', took the initiative to cross over into the field during the transformation of an old state-owned enterprise and served as the leader of the research and development team for mobile ecological and environmentally friendly toilets. Starting from trial production in 2016, he led his team through multiple rounds of research and upgrades, transforming the product from a design concept into a tangible entity, producing a prototype and advancing it to the fourth generation. The fourth-generation product achieved the goals of fecal microbial decomposition and zero discharge and zero pollution of recycled water through technologies such as optimizing the purification system partition, adding a sewage recycling process, and improving filter media. Faced with doubts about 'using high-end 'national treasures' to build toilets', he interpreted the craftsmanship spirit with innovation at its core, believing that 'the craftsmanship spirit means continuous progress, continuous innovation, and striving for excellence'. This innovation and breakthrough are not only reflected at the technological level but also in challenging traditional concepts and leading industry development.

Dedication and perseverance are important manifestations of the craftsmanship spirit in mobile toilets. Ye Haixia, a female engineer from Shanghai, has been dedicated to the field of fecal sewage treatment for 18 years. Starting from the research and development of emergency toilets after the Wenchuan earthquake, she has successively participated in toilet support work for major events such as the Shanghai World Expo and the Yushu earthquake. After the call for the 'Toilet Revolution' by the state in 2015, she elevated her professional understanding to the mission of 'solving urgent and difficult problems'. She developed waterless ecological toilets for water-scarce regions in northwest China and overcame sanitation challenges in high-altitude and water-scarce environments through microbial agent technology. Her research path has always been guided by frontline needs, reflecting the eternal pursuit of the craftsmanship spirit of 'accepting challenges and improving skills'.

Responsibility and commitment are collective manifestations of the craftsmanship spirit in mobile toilets. The Yanta District has implemented the '1+2+8+n' restroom supervisor management model in public toilet construction, enhancing ecological and technological levels through smart means and creating characteristic public toilets equipped with intelligent guidance, fresh air systems, direct drinking water, and other facilities. This practice of taking the initiative to build new public toilets from the perspective of 'construction, management, and aesthetics' demonstrates the collective commitment of the craftsmanship spirit to 'creating a social atmosphere of honorable labor'.
