Lighting for Mobile Toilets and Bathrooms
Admin October 19, 2026
The selection of lighting for mobile toilets and bathrooms requires comprehensive consideration of safety, energy efficiency, waterproofing, and usage scenarios. It is recommended to prioritize smart-sensing LED lights or solar-powered lights and strictly adhere to installation specifications.

I. Light Types and Suitable Scenarios
- LED Motion-Sensing Night Lights: Priced between ¥3.0 and ¥40.0, these are suitable for bathrooms or small mobile toilets. Their core advantage is motion-sensing functionality, automatically turning on when someone approaches at night and turning off after a delay when they leave, providing convenience and energy savings.
- Smart Occupancy Indicator Lights: Priced at ¥180.00 (for 1-49 units) or ¥170.00 (for ≥50 units), these are suitable for public mobile restrooms. These lights display toilet occupancy status with red and green colors while integrating motion-sensing modules to turn on when someone arrives and off when they leave, making them ideal for high-traffic scenarios.
- Solar-Powered Split Lights: For mobile toilets located outdoors without a stable power supply, solar lights are an option. The solar panel should be installed in a location with direct sunlight (e.g., on the roof or exterior wall), with the light fixture installed inside the restroom. The sensing distance is 3-6 meters, with a brightness of 100-300 lumens, and a waterproof rating of at least IP65 is required.
II. Core Feature Requirements
- Waterproof and Dustproof: Mobile toilet environments are humid, so lighting fixtures must have a protection rating of ≥IP65 to ensure dust and water resistance, preventing short circuits or damage due to moisture.
- Energy Efficiency: Prioritize LED light sources, which consume only 30%-50% of the power of traditional lights and have a lifespan of over 50,000 hours, significantly reducing maintenance costs.
- Safe Voltage: For outdoor use, it is recommended to choose low-voltage (e.g., 12V/24V) LED lights to reduce the risk of electric shock, especially in scenarios without professional electrician maintenance.
III. Installation Specifications and Precautions
- Mounting Method: Drill holes at designated locations on the toilet ceiling or sidewall and secure the light fixture bracket with screws to ensure structural stability.
- Wiring Connection: Follow the instructions carefully, distinguishing between live, neutral, and ground wires to avoid short circuits or electric shocks due to incorrect connections.
- Switch Selection: Install waterproof switches or remote-controlled switches for convenient nighttime operation while avoiding direct contact with humid environments.
- Special Requirements for Solar Lights: The solar panel should be installed facing south at an angle to ensure maximum sunlight exposure; the distance between the light fixture and the solar panel should not exceed 5 meters to reduce line losses.
IV. Maintenance Recommendations
Regularly clean dust from the light fixture surface and check the sensitivity of the motion-sensing module; for solar lights, check the battery status every six months to ensure energy storage efficiency. If the light flickers or brightness decreases, replace the light source or battery promptly.
