How Many Square Meters is a Mobile Toilet

Admin September 21, 2026

The floor area of mobile toilets varies depending on their type and design, commonly ranging from a few square meters to tens of square meters.

The floor area of a mobile toilet is not a fixed value; it primarily depends on factors such as type, design, and the number of toilet stalls. The following explains this from two perspectives: type and toilet stall standards.

From the perspective of specific types, mobile toilets with different shapes and purposes have significantly different floor areas. For example, the Apple Pod toilet is a relatively common type, occupying an area of 18 square meters, with specific dimensions of 6 meters in length and 3 meters in width. This design is typically suitable for places that have certain space requirements and pursue aesthetics, such as scenic spots and parks. On the other hand, the L-shaped mobile toilet has a larger floor area, reaching 48 square meters, with dimensions of 12 meters in width and 3 meters in length. This type of mobile toilet may be more suitable for large-scale event venues or areas with high foot traffic, as it can accommodate more toilet stalls and functional areas to meet the needs of more people.

From the perspective of toilet stall standards, the standard usage area for a single toilet stall in a mobile toilet is usually between 1.5 and 2 square meters. This means that if a mobile toilet has only one toilet stall, its floor area should be at least 1.5 square meters. However, in practice,附属空间 (affiliated spaces, such as aisles and hand-washing areas) also need to be considered, so the overall area will be larger. If a mobile toilet contains multiple toilet stalls, its floor area will increase accordingly based on the number of stalls. For example, a mobile toilet with 4 toilet stalls, calculated at 2 square meters per stall, would require 8 square meters just for the stalls. Adding public areas such as aisles and hand-washing basins, the total area might exceed 10 square meters.

In addition, the design of mobile toilets also takes into account other factors, such as ventilation, lighting, and the layout of sanitary facilities, which can also have an impact on the floor area. Therefore, when choosing a mobile toilet, it is necessary to comprehensively consider its floor area and functional configuration based on the actual usage scenario, foot traffic, and budget.
