In terms of classification, they can be divided into single-structure mobile toilets and composite-structure mobile toilets based on structural form; lifting and handling mobile toilets, and powered and trailer-mounted mobile toilets based on mobility; and water-flush and waterless suction-type mobile toilets, circulating water-flush mobile toilets, and dry-packing mobile toilets based on sewage treatment methods.

Mobile toilets have many advantages. They are movable, combinable, and easy to transport, allowing for flexible position adjustments according to different needs. Their design follows certain principles. The overall structure should be lightweight, using lightweight and durable materials as much as possible while being sturdy. The height and width of the toilet should also be controlled during design, and the mobile device should be fully considered for completeness and rationality to achieve the goals of easy mobility, cost-effectiveness, environmental protection, environmental friendliness, improved efficiency, and promoting humanitarianism.

Mobile showers come in various types. The trailer-mounted mobile shower room is a relatively common one, which is movable and convenient for use in different places. There is also a type like the Apple Pod style, with exterior walls made of Great Wall panels. It has a public hand-washing area in the front, separated for men and women, and the toilet compartments inside are equipped with corresponding facilities. It is actually a combination of a mobile toilet and a shower room, meeting both toilet and shower needs and providing more comprehensive sanitation services for users.
