Mobile Rural Toilets in Yichuan

Admin September 23, 2026

In Yichuan County, rural mobile toilets primarily utilize mobile public toilets as supplementary facilities. There has been no large-scale promotion of fully mobile toilets, but supply channels exist, and toilet renovations mainly adopt flush-type and small three-compartment septic tank models.

Supply of Mobile Public Toilets

Suppliers in the Zhengzhou area of Henan Province, where Yichuan County is located, offer mobile public toilets at a price of approximately ¥5000. These toilets are typically prefabricated structures that can be quickly installed and dismantled, suitable for temporary events, public places, or supplementary needs in remote villages. Their advantage lies in high flexibility, but they have not been incorporated into the mainstream model of rural toilet renovation in Yichuan County, serving more as supplementary facilities to fixed toilets.

Mainstream Models of Rural Toilet Renovation

Yichuan County has promoted three types of toilet renovation models based on varying village conditions:

  1. Flush-type Toilets: Promoted in villages covered by urban sewage networks or densely populated areas (such as Shuiniugou Village in Baiyuan Town). By laying pipelines to connect to sewage treatment systems, fecal matter is rendered harmless, significantly improving sanitary conditions.
  2. Small Three-Compartment Septic Tank Toilets: Targeted at mountainous or water-scarce areas (such as Sungou Village in Lvdian Town), these toilets utilize idle spaces (such as abandoned cattle sheds) to reconstruct septic tanks. After three-stage anaerobic fermentation, fecal matter meets harmless standards, suitable for scattered living scenarios.
  3. Localized Renovations: Some villages (such as Yinqiao Village in Yaling Town) have transformed open-air latrines into indoor bathrooms, installing squat or sit toilets according to family needs, improving ventilation and airtightness, and reducing mosquito and fly infestations.

Achievements of Toilet Renovation and Positioning of Mobile Toilets

Renovated toilets generally feature wall-top ventilation, airtight fecal storage tanks, and are fly and maggot-free, significantly enhancing the rural sanitary environment. Currently, Yichuan County has not adopted fully mobile toilets (such as prefabricated public toilets) on a large scale as the primary toilet renovation solution, but the supply channels for mobile public toilets provide options for temporary or special scenarios within the county. If mobile toilets are to be promoted, a comprehensive assessment combining village population size, usage frequency, and maintenance costs is necessary.

Summary: Rural toilet renovation in Yichuan County primarily focuses on fixed harmless toilets, with mobile public toilets serving as supplementary facilities with existing supply channels but not becoming the mainstream model. The choice of toilet type should be determined based on actual village conditions (such as terrain, water sources, population density) and long-term usage needs.
