Mobile Public Toilet Dimensions

Admin October 02, 2026

The dimensions of mobile public toilets vary depending on their type and functional requirements, with common specifications as follows:

Single-occupancy mobile toilets are primarily designed for compactness, with external dimensions typically ranging from 1.1 to 1.5 meters in length, 1.0 to 1.2 meters in width, and 2.2 to 2.5 meters in height. Among them, the typical dimensions for single-pit units are 1.2 to 1.5 meters in length, 1.0 to 1.2 meters in width, and starting at 2.2 meters in height. These toilets are suitable for low-traffic scenarios, such as temporary events or small public areas, where the spatial layout must meet basic toilet needs while also considering transportation convenience.

Double-occupancy mobile toilets come in two types based on structural differences: one is an integrated design with a length of up to 6.8 meters; the other is a modular combination unit with a length ranging from 2.4 to 3.0 meters and a consistent width of 1.0 to 1.2 meters. These toilets enhance service efficiency by increasing the number of pits and are suitable for medium-sized public places, such as scenic area entrances or commercial districts, where the width design must ensure comfortable passage for two people using them simultaneously.

Large container-type mobile public toilets have significantly larger dimensions, with lengths exceeding 6 meters and widths exceeding 2.5 meters. They can be internally configured with multiple male and female toilet stalls, accessible toilets, and management rooms. For example, some prefabricated mobile restrooms adopt a specification of 2.5 meters by 6.5 meters, achieving functional integration through zoning design. They are suitable for high-traffic scenarios such as large events, transportation hubs, or urban core areas, where the dimensions must meet the space requirements for equipment installation, ventilation systems, and daily maintenance.

Accessible toilet stalls, as specialized functional areas, require an internal clear width of at least 1.5 meters, a clear depth of at least 1.8 meters, and a door width of no less than 0.9 meters. These designs strictly adhere to accessibility standards, ensuring sufficient space for wheelchair rotation and the operation of assistive devices, reflecting care for special populations.

The dimensional standards for internal functional areas are also clear: the clear width of the toilet area should not be less than 0.85 meters, with an ideal range of 0.9 to 1.0 meters; the clear depth should be 1.2 to 1.5 meters to accommodate the toilet fixture and user activity space; the door width should be no less than 0.6 meters to facilitate rapid passage in emergencies. These parameters are formulated based on ergonomic principles, balancing user comfort and space utilization efficiency.
