Mobile Public Toilet

Admin September 22, 2026

Mobile toilets are facilities that can be moved as a whole and provide toilet services to the public. They are suitable for various places and come in multiple types with different features.

Suitable Places

Mobile toilets are suitable for stations, docks, tourist attractions, villa areas, newly built residential communities, large construction sites, squares, densely populated public places, and bustling commercial streets. These places often have temporary or periodic demands for toilets, or it is relatively difficult to build fixed public toilets. Mobile toilets can effectively make up for the shortcomings of insufficient public toilet supply and unreasonable layout.

Composition Structure

Generally, they consist of a fecal sewage storage tank (or fecal sewage treatment device), floor slabs, sanitary ware, walls, washing equipment, water tanks, roofs, and mobile devices. The specific composition of mobile toilets of different types and uses may vary, but overall, they cover these basic parts to meet people's basic toilet needs.

Development History and Materials

Initially, mobile toilets were made of materials such as wood, with simple structures and functions, and were prone to absorbing odors. Later, they gradually evolved to use materials like fiberglass-reinforced plastic and polyethylene. These materials have better durability, waterproofness, and odor-proof properties, improving the user experience and lifespan of mobile toilets.

Type Classification

  • By structural form: They can be divided into single-structure mobile toilets and composite-structure mobile toilets. Single-structure ones are relatively simple and suitable for places with low space requirements and a small number of users; composite-structure ones are more complex and have more complete functions, meeting the needs of more people.
  • By moving method: They are classified into hoisting and handling mobile toilets and powered and towed mobile toilets. Hoisting and handling mobile toilets mainly rely on manual labor or mechanical equipment for handling; powered and towed mobile toilets can be towed by vehicles for movement, which is more convenient and fast.
  • By sewage treatment method: They are divided into water-flush and non-water-flush suction mobile toilets, circulating water-flush mobile toilets, and dry-packing mobile toilets. Different sewage treatment methods are suitable for different environments and conditions. For example, water-flush types are suitable for places with a water supply, while dry-packing types are suitable for water-scarce areas.

Design Principles

The design should follow the principles of being mobile and convenient, economical and durable; environmentally friendly and beneficial to the environment; improving efficiency and promoting humanity. The overall structure should be considered lightweight, using lightweight and durable materials as much as possible. The structure should be sturdy, and at the same time, the height and width of the toilet should be controlled. The mobile device should be fully considered for completeness and rationality.
