Mobile Highway Toilet

Admin September 20, 2026

A mobile highway toilet is a facility where mobile toilets are applied along highways and other locations to provide restroom services for the public and customers.

I. Definition and Composition A mobile toilet refers to a facility that can be moved as a whole and placed at locations with fixed or temporary needs. It generally consists of a fecal sewage storage tank (or fecal sewage treatment device), floor slab, sanitary ware, walls, washing equipment, water tank, roof, and mobile device, etc.

II. Classification Methods

  1. By structural form: Mobile toilets can be divided into single-structure mobile toilets and composite-structure mobile toilets. Single-structure toilets are relatively independent and simple, while composite-structure toilets may be composed of multiple parts and have more complex and diverse functions.
  2. By moving method: There are lifting and handling-type mobile toilets, which are usually relatively small in volume and weight, facilitating manual or simple mechanical lifting and handling; and powered and towed-type mobile toilets, which can be moved with the help of vehicle power and are suitable for long-distance transportation and rapid deployment.
  3. By sewage treatment method: Mobile toilets can be classified into water-flush and waterless suction-type mobile toilets. Water-flush toilets have good cleaning effects but require a water source; waterless suction-type toilets treat fecal sewage through suction equipment. Recirculating water-flush mobile toilets can recycle and reuse sewage, saving water resources. Dry-packing mobile toilets collect feces in packing bags and do not require water, making them suitable for water-scarce areas.

III. Characteristics and Advantages Mobile highway toilets can be conveniently transported to any location where toilets need to be installed, such as remote sections along highways and around tourist attractions during peak seasons. They can be used repeatedly. When the demand at one location ends, they can be quickly moved to another location to continue functioning. They have the advantages of being movable, combinable, and easy to transport, and can be flexibly combined and arranged according to actual needs.

IV. Application Examples Dezhou Hongtu Metal Products Co., Ltd. can provide mobile toilets suitable for scenarios such as highways in Tibet. These toilets are made of galvanized steel as a whole, which is sturdy and durable and can adapt to complex and harsh highway environments. During the May Day holiday in 2026, Shanxi Jinci Scenic Spot flexibly deployed buses as mobile men's toilets and temporarily converted fixed men's toilets into women's toilets to cope with the peak tourist flow, effectively improving the reception capacity of restrooms in the area.
