Marine Container House Design
Marine container house design takes containers as the basic unit, achieving the transformation from transportation function to residential function through systematic reconstruction. Its core design points cover structural safety, performance enhancement, modular application, and environmental adaptability.

1. Structural Safety Reconstruction
The original strength of containers is concentrated in the corner fittings. When cutting doors and windows, steel frames need to be welded around the openings to form new load-transfer rings, ensuring overall rigidity. For example, after opening a window on the side wall, a fully welded steel frame is added, similar to adding a lintel after opening a hole in a load-bearing wall. For the marine environment, thorough rust removal is required, and a multi-layer protective system (anti-rust primer + intermediate coat + topcoat) should be adopted, with special attention given to welds and the bottom area of the container to deal with electrochemical corrosion. The foundation connection should be selected according to geological conditions, such as concrete pier bolt connection, continuous concrete strip foundation, or adjustable screw pile foundation, to ensure stability.
2. Physical Performance Enhancement
The insulation system uses polyurethane in-situ foaming to fill irregular gaps, extruded polystyrene boards for the floor, and rock wool boards for the walls, with a vapor barrier installed to prevent condensation. The enclosure system separates the internal wall panels and ceiling from the original steel plate through studs, creating cavities for wiring and pipelines while reducing the impact of external vibrations through elastic connections. The steel container body is treated with galvanization or special coatings. A 2.2-ton container can be fixed with anchor bolts to resist sea winds, possessing excellent wind pressure resistance and moisture resistance.
3. Modularity and Flexibility
It supports customized design in standard sizes ranging from 20 to 60 feet, enabling unit combination through standardized connectors while retaining the load-bearing characteristics of 10-30 tons of shipping containers. A standard 3×6×2.8-meter unit can be delivered within 30 days, and the weldability of the steel structure allows for non-destructive modifications. The modular nature supports the addition or removal of space units in commercial scenarios (such as shops and bars) at any time, offering far greater flexibility than traditional buildings.
4. Environmental Adaptability Design
For coastal scenarios, special attention is given to the integrity of the coating on the bottom of the container body, and ship anti-corrosion processes are adopted to extend the service life to over 20 years. The fine interior lining solves insulation problems, adapting to temperatures ranging from -30℃ to 50℃. The integration level of the internal environmental system directly affects comfort.
