Habitable Containers Fit Today's Society: Four Core Issues

Admin September 11, 2026
  1. Living container houses can use natural foundations. When the foundation soil bearing capacity for a single-story building structure is less than 60 kPa, or for a multi-story building structure less than 100 kPa, the foundation soil is soft soil or poor ground.

  2. How do you install water supply and drainage, electrical systems, and air conditioning in a living container house? Unlike traditional buildings, water supply and electrical work do not require pipes to be laid in advance during construction; air conditioning is the final step of the construction process. As with traditional buildings, sewage pipes must be installed together with the main structure.

  3. How do you install doors and windows on a living container? Doors and windows can be fitted to personal preference; glass doors and wooden doors can be made. Windows can also be converted into round windows, louvers, floor-to-ceiling windows, and more.

  4. How do residential container houses handle insulation in hot climates? The container insulation layer is filled with rock wool. Rock wool products use high-quality basalt. Dolomite is the main raw material. After melting at temperatures above 1,450°C, advanced four-axis centrifuges spin it into fibers at high speed, and a measured amount of binder is sprayed in. Dust-proof oil and hydrophobic agents are applied after collection on the fiber collecting machine. Through a hammering process plus three-dimensional fiber laying and curing, the material is cut into shape. This technology is now very common, so insulation is no longer a concern.
