Factory Prefabrication of Light Steel Structure Houses

Admin September 18, 2026

The factory prefabrication process of light steel structure houses mainly includes four aspects: preliminary design, factory prefabrication, characteristics of prefabricated components, and advantages of prefabrication.

Preliminary Design: This is the foundational step in the factory prefabrication of light steel structure houses. Professionals conduct on-site surveys of the terrain and soil conditions, determining an appropriate foundation plan based on this data. Simultaneously, they engage in thorough communication with clients to confirm specific needs such as house layout and water and electricity points. Subsequently, BIM technology is used for modeling, from which construction drawings and CNC machining files are generated. After completing these tasks, the construction team enters the site to level the ground, preparing for subsequent construction.

Factory Prefabrication: In the factory, Q550 galvanized aluminum-zinc light steel keels are selected as the primary material. Using advanced CNC equipment, wall, floor, and roof truss components are precisely machined according to the CNC machining files output from the preliminary design. After machining, these components undergo pre-assembly to check their dimensional accuracy and the fit of connecting parts. Once pre-assembly is qualified, the components are numbered and packaged for easy installation on-site. Meanwhile, supporting materials such as OSB boards and insulation cotton are also prepared, and all components and materials are transported to the site in bulk.

Characteristics of Prefabricated Components: Light steel villas use light steel keels synthesized from hot-dip galvanized aluminum-zinc steel strips through cold rolling as the core material. The galvanized aluminum-zinc steel plate is cured at 600℃ to form a quaternary crystal structure consisting of 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc, and 1.6% silicon. This special structure provides a corrosion-resistant barrier, effectively resisting erosion from the external environment and extending the lifespan of the house.

Advantages of Prefabrication: Light steel structure houses are prefabricated in factories using standardized modular processes. This process significantly shortens the construction period compared to traditional buildings, reducing it by approximately 50%. Simultaneously, material waste rates are also significantly reduced, dropping to 3%. In terms of overall cost, it is 15%-20% lower than that of brick-and-mortar structures, offering high cost-effectiveness.
