Construction Standards for Large-Scale Mobile Toilets

Admin October 10, 2026

Currently, there are no detailed and unified regulations specifically targeting the construction standards for large-scale mobile toilets. However, comprehensive consideration can be given by combining the composition, classification of mobile toilets, and relevant urban public toilet design standards.

In terms of the composition of mobile toilets, they generally consist of fecal sewage storage tanks (or fecal sewage treatment devices), floor slabs, sanitary ware, walls, washing equipment, water tanks, roofs, and mobile devices. When constructing large-scale mobile toilets, the quality and performance of these components must meet certain standards. For example, fecal sewage storage tanks should have sufficient capacity and good sealing properties to prevent sewage leakage and environmental pollution. Sanitary ware should be made of durable and easy-to-clean materials to ensure user experience and hygiene. Walls and roofs should have good waterproof and heat insulation properties to adapt to different climatic conditions.

Mobile toilets can be classified in various ways. According to their structural form, they can be divided into single-structure mobile toilets and composite-structure mobile toilets. Large-scale mobile toilets can choose the appropriate structural form based on actual needs to ensure structural stability and safety. According to their mobility method, they can be divided into hoisting and handling mobile toilets, and powered and towed mobile toilets. During construction, the reliability and convenience of the mobile devices should be considered to facilitate movement and installation in different locations. According to their sewage treatment method, they can be divided into flush and non-flush suction mobile toilets, circulating flush mobile toilets, and dry-packing mobile toilets. The appropriate sewage treatment method should be selected based on the actual conditions of the usage location, such as water source conditions and sewage treatment capacity.

In addition, the urban public toilet design standard can refer to the "Urban Public Toilet Design Standard" (CJJ 14-2016). Although this standard is aimed at urban public toilets, some of its requirements regarding hygiene, ventilation, and lighting can also serve as a reference for the construction of large-scale mobile toilets. For example, it is necessary to ensure good ventilation conditions in the toilet to reduce odors and provide sufficient lighting to improve user comfort.
