Introduction to Intelligent Mobile Toilets

Admin September 23, 2026

Intelligent mobile toilets are a new type of urban public infrastructure that rely on the Internet of Things, big data, cloud computing, edge computing, artificial intelligence, and automatic control technologies to digitally and intelligently upgrade traditional public toilets.

Structural and Functional Features

Some intelligent mobile toilets come with built-in fecal collection tanks. The toilet compartments are designed in a U-shaped Apple Pod style, with exterior walls made of fluorocarbon-painted aluminum panels, ensuring both sturdiness and aesthetic appeal. Inside, they are equipped with intelligent systems that enable automatic lighting and touchless handwashing functions. Taking the STM32-based intelligent public toilet system as an example, its core control unit employs an STM32F103C8T6 microcontroller, utilizing various sensors to achieve different functions. The MSP20 water pressure and air pressure sensor detects water pressure intensity, the MQ136 hydrogen sulfide sensor detects hydrogen sulfide, the MQ137 ammonia sensor detects ammonia, infrared obstacle avoidance sensors detect whether someone is using the toilet, infrared beam sensors detect foot traffic, and a GPS module provides real-time positioning. When someone uses the toilet, it automatically flushes, or flushes on a 2-minute timer. When ammonia or hydrogen sulfide levels exceed standards, fans activate for ventilation, and a buzzer sounds an alarm. Buttons allow for threshold adjustments, a display shows real-time data, a Wi-Fi module transmits data to a cloud platform, and an app can retrieve and display platform data for control purposes.

Intelligent Management System

Intelligent mobile toilets have established a fully closed-loop intelligent management system encompassing "perception and collection - transmission and analysis - intelligent decision-making - automatic execution - operation and maintenance management." Through this system, they can comprehensively address industry pain points such as unpleasant odors, toilet stall congestion, delayed maintenance, excessive energy consumption, and粗放 (crude/unrefined) management in traditional public toilets, achieving a holistic upgrade in terms of humanized toilet services, digitized operation and maintenance, refined management, and low-carbon operation.

Application Scenarios

Intelligent mobile toilets are widely used in various public settings, including urban municipal areas, transportation hubs, tourist attractions, medical institutions, commercial complexes, and industrial parks. In these scenarios, intelligent mobile toilets provide a better toilet experience for people with their intelligent and convenient features, while also enhancing the management level and service quality of public areas.
