Intelligent Green Prefabricated Housing
Intelligent green prefabricated housing is a new type of building form that adopts modular construction methods and combines green environmental protection with intelligent construction technologies. It is characterized by high efficiency, environmental friendliness, and flexibility, and has been widely applied both domestically and internationally, showing promising development prospects.

Modular Construction Methods Enhance Efficiency and Flexibility
Intelligent green prefabricated housing employs modular construction methods, breaking down buildings into independent modules that are prefabricated in factories and then transported to the site for assembly. Taking the E-MIC prefabricated concrete box housing system developed by China Construction First Bureau as an example, by spacing out module units, it can reduce module usage by 30% to 40%, while increasing the usable floor area, accelerating construction speed, and offering flexible spatial arrangements suitable for various scenarios such as urban renewal, new residential construction, and office spaces. This construction method shortens the construction period by more than 60% compared to traditional buildings, reduces on-site labor by about 50%, and ensures controllable quality and ease of maintenance.
Green Environmental Protection Technologies Reduce Energy Consumption and Pollution
In terms of green environmental protection, these houses reduce on-site noise, dust, and construction waste through standardized factory prefabrication. Some products also utilize new materials such as radiative cooling coatings to achieve "passive cooling" of buildings, reducing air conditioning energy consumption. For instance, the IECOC® radiative cooling coating developed by China Construction Second Bureau can achieve a solar reflectance and atmospheric window emissivity of 97%. Tested in a Beijing sunroom environment, it can reduce surface temperatures by over 30°C and indoor temperatures by 1°C, effectively reducing energy consumption.
Intelligent Construction Technologies Enable Smart Operation and Maintenance
Intelligent construction technologies permeate the entire process of intelligent green prefabricated housing, relying on BIM, IoT, and AI technologies to achieve smart operation and maintenance, and even possessing the ability to self-repair cracks. For example, China Construction First Bureau has implemented a smart venue operation and maintenance platform paired with microbial crack repair materials, enabling smart operation and maintenance of buildings and improving their maintenance efficiency and service life.
Widespread Application and Promising Development Prospects
Currently, intelligent green prefabricated housing has been widely applied both domestically and internationally. For example, a social housing project in Shenzhen, Guangdong, was assembled from 6,028 concrete modules, reducing the completion and delivery period from 2.5-3 years to 1 year; an assembled kitchen in Weifang, Shandong, shortened the construction period by more than four months through factory prefabrication of interior finishes and fittings. Market research institutions predict that the global modular construction market will exceed $142.8 billion by 2030, indicating its vast development prospects.
