Integrated Two-Story Container House
Currently, information on integrated two-story container houses is relatively limited, but a general introduction can be made by combining the common characteristics of container houses.

I. Structural Features
Integrated two-story container houses typically adopt a modular design, using standard containers as basic units. Two containers are stacked vertically through welding or bolt connections to form a two-story structure. This design retains the standardized dimensions of containers (such as 20 feet or 40 feet), facilitating transportation and assembly. The upper and lower floors need to be reinforced and connected with steel structures to ensure overall stability, while stairs or external ladders are required as vertical traffic channels. Some designs incorporate split-level layouts or open atriums to optimize space utilization and lighting effects.
II. Materials and Performance
In terms of materials, the exterior walls and roofs of integrated two-story container houses often use high-strength steel plates, with internal filling of insulation materials such as rock wool and polyurethane to meet fire prevention, heat insulation, and sound insulation requirements. The frame structure typically uses Q235 or Q345 steel, with a wind resistance rating of up to Level 12 and seismic performance meeting civil building standards. For use in cold regions, the thickness of the exterior wall insulation layer needs to be increased or double-glazed windows adopted; in humid environments, moisture-proof treatment needs to be strengthened, such as applying waterproof coatings or setting drainage slopes.
III. Customization and Cost
Integrated two-story container houses offer high customization flexibility, allowing adjustments to floor height, door and window positions, and internal layout according to needs. Costs are significantly influenced by materials, size, and configuration: The unit price of ordinary steel structures is approximately 1500-2500 yuan per square meter, while high-end customized models (such as those using aluminum alloy frames and eco-friendly interiors) may exceed 3000 yuan per square meter. Transportation costs need to be calculated separately, especially for cross-regional transportation, where the increased volume of two-story structures may lead to higher freight charges. Additionally, if on-site welding or cutting is required, relevant approval procedures need to be completed in advance.
IV. Application Scenarios
Such houses are mostly used in temporary or semi-permanent scenarios, such as construction site dormitories, post-disaster resettlement, and tourist homestays. The two-story design can significantly improve space utilization, for example, with the ground floor serving as a public activity area and the upper floor as a living area. However, it should be noted that some regions have strict regulations on the number of floors and uses of container houses, and it is necessary to consult local planning departments in advance to avoid illegal construction.
