Installation Dimensions of Mobile Toilets

Admin September 23, 2026

The dimensions of mobile toilets for installation need to be determined based on the specific type and requirements, with common specifications as follows:

Single-pit mobile toilets:
The external dimensions typically range from 1.2 to 1.5 meters in length, 1.0 to 1.2 meters in width, and 2.2 to 2.5 meters in height. These toilets are suitable for single-user scenarios, such as temporary events or small construction sites. The internal toilet area needs to meet basic activity space requirements: the net width should generally be no less than 0.85 meters, ideally reaching 0.9 to 1.0 meters to ensure the convenience of users turning around or adjusting their posture; the net depth should be guaranteed to be between 1.2 and 1.5 meters to avoid a cramped space; the door width should be no less than 0.6 meters for easy personnel access. If a toilet bowl or squat pan needs to be installed, additional space should be reserved according to the equipment dimensions, for example, an activity area of 0.6 to 0.8 meters should be retained in front of the toilet bowl.

Multi-pit combined mobile toilets:
The length of a two-pit unit may reach 2.4 to 3.0 meters, while the width remains at 1.0 to 1.2 meters, suitable for medium-sized crowd usage scenarios, such as scenic spots or exhibitions. Larger container-type mobile toilets can have a length of more than 6 meters and a width of more than 2.5 meters, and may include multiple male and female toilet stalls, accessible toilets, and a management room inside. For such toilets, dimensions need to be designed according to functional zoning: for example, the management room should reserve a space of 1.5 meters × 1.5 meters for placing cleaning tools or storage cabinets; the ratio of male to female toilet stalls is usually set at 1:1.5, and the net dimensions of each stall should be consistent with the standards for single-pit toilets.

Mobile toilets for special occasions:
Accessible toilets need to meet the requirements for wheelchair passage. The door width must be sufficient for wheelchair access, usually no less than 0.9 meters. The internal net width should reach more than 1.5 meters, and the net depth should reach more than 1.8 meters to provide turning space for wheelchairs. In addition, auxiliary facilities such as handrails and low-position washbasins need to be installed inside. The height of the handrails from the ground should be between 0.7 and 0.85 meters, and a knee space of more than 0.65 meters should be reserved below the washbasin. Such toilets are commonly found in hospitals, nursing homes, or large public event venues and need to strictly follow accessible design specifications.
