Indoor Toilet Portable Bedpan

Admin October 08, 2026

An indoor toilet portable bedpan is a portable toilet device specifically designed for people with mobility issues. It is suitable for use in bedrooms and other settings by the elderly, pregnant women, people with disabilities, and other groups, with its core function being to solve the problem of toilet difficulties.

Structural Design: Focusing on Stability and Anti-Slip Properties

The design of portable bedpans prioritizes stability, with two common structures: bucket-type and thick-legged. The bucket-type structure expands the contact area of the base by enlarging and thickening the bucket body, reducing the risk of tipping over. For example, some products have a base diameter exceeding 40 centimeters and can withstand accidental collisions by adults without toppling. The thick-legged structure adopts an upgraded and thickened "elephant leg" design, mostly made of high-strength plastic or metal, with a single-leg load-bearing capacity of over 100 kilograms, ensuring safety during standing or movement. Additionally, the bottom is often equipped with anti-slip rubber pads or suction cups to further enhance grip on smooth surfaces such as tiles and wooden floors.

Material Selection: Balancing Antibacterial Properties and Ease of Cleaning

The main body material is mostly ABS engineering resin, which has high strength, impact resistance, and corrosion resistance, while also featuring excellent surface smoothness and being less prone to residue. Some products contain antibacterial additives that can inhibit the growth of common pathogens such as Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, reducing the risk of cross-infection. The inner bucket usually adopts a detachable design, made of lightweight plastic or stainless steel, facilitating separate cleaning and disinfection.

Functional Optimization: Humanized Design Enhances User Experience

  1. Hygiene Design: Some products have built-in small basins to separate excreta from rinsing water, preventing sewage from splashing; the inner bucket is equipped with a handle for easy removal, emptying, and rinsing; some models support the use of disposable garbage bags, reducing direct contact with waste, especially suitable for postoperative patients or those with weakened immune systems.
  2. Comfort Design: High-end models are equipped with armrests and backrests. The height of the armrests is adjustable, and the backrest angle supports 120°-160° tilt to meet the needs of users with different body types; double-layer sealing design reduces odor diffusion through silicone rings or magnetic covers, and some products are equipped with activated carbon filters or aroma boxes to further purify the air.
  3. Convenience Design: The integrated structure combines the bedpan, sewage storage bucket, and stand into a single unit, with a weight controlled within 10 kilograms. Paired with universal wheels at the bottom or side handles, it can be easily moved to the bedside or bathroom; a built-in tissue box on the side facilitates easy access to tissues, avoiding the hassle of searching for items after using the toilet.

Applicable Scenarios and User Groups

This type of product mainly serves individuals with limited mobility, such as patients in the rehabilitation period after fractures, patients with sequelae from strokes, and women in late pregnancy. It can also be used in bedrooms without independent bathrooms or temporary medical settings. Its portability makes it an important auxiliary tool for home care and institutional care.
