Hubei Rural Mobile Toilet Solution

Admin September 29, 2026

The Hubei rural mobile toilet solution requires a comprehensive approach that integrates policy, design, construction, delivery, installation, and cost maintenance.

Policy Support: Hubei Province is advancing the 'Toilet Revolution', providing subsidies for the construction and renovation of sanitary toilets in rural areas. Mobile toilets, as temporary or long-term solutions, are included within the scope of policy support.

Design Requirements:

  1. Design Principles: Adhere to the principles of 'adapting to local conditions, economic applicability, and hygiene and safety', taking into account climate, terrain, and villagers' habits.
  2. Main Structure: Modular design with a single toilet area of ≥1.2㎡ and a height of 2.2-2.5m to ensure sufficient operating space.
  3. Appearance and Functionality:
    • The exterior features neutral colors such as light gray and off-white, with a sloped roof design suitable for rainwater drainage in rainy areas.
    • Functional areas include a toilet area (water-saving squat toilet, non-slip踏板 (footrest)), a washing area (push-type water-saving faucet, anti-fog mirror), and a management area (tool cabinet, ventilation device).
  4. Material Selection:
    • The main frame is made of hot-dip galvanized square steel (40×40×2mm) with anti-rust treatment; the walls are constructed with lightweight composite wall panels (≥50mm), fire-resistant B1 grade, waterproof, and heat-insulating; the floor is covered with non-slip tiles (300×300mm) with a 1% slope for drainage; the septic tank is a three-chamber structure with an effective volume of ≥1.5m³, cast in situ with C25 concrete.

Construction Preparation:

  1. Technical Training: Organize construction technicians to study the 'Technical Specifications for the Construction of Three-Chamber Toilets in Rural Areas' and prepare technical disclosure documents.
  2. Material Preparation: Purchase hot-dip galvanized square steel, composite wall panels, C25 concrete, non-slip tiles, etc., according to design requirements to ensure quality standards are met.
  3. Site Preparation: Clear debris, level the site, excavate temporary drainage ditches, connect construction power (distribution box), and ensure the water access point is ≤50m from the work surface.

Delivery and Installation:

  1. Road Access: Confirm the dimensions of logistics vehicles in advance. Oversized or overweight equipment requires obtaining an oversized transport permit.
  2. Site Planning: Avoid underground pipelines and high-voltage lines. The site should be uniformly selected by the village committee, occupying approximately 3-5㎡, suitable for areas such as squares and scenic spots.
  3. Type Selection: Trailer-type toilets are suitable for areas with good road conditions, but attention should be paid to bridge load-bearing capacity; assembled-type toilets are suitable for areas with complex terrain but have a longer installation period and require professional teams.

Cost and Maintenance: The price of basic models ranges from 3,000 to 8,000 yuan, while high-end models can exceed 20,000 yuan. Regularly inspect water and electricity connections and choose suppliers with after-sales support.
