How to Use a Portable Toilet
Admin October 12, 2026
The way to use a portable toilet varies depending on its type. Here is a detailed introduction:

Portable and Movable Toilet
- Preparation before use: A portable and movable toilet usually consists of a toilet body and a black water tank. Before use, check whether the black water tank is firmly installed to avoid loosening or falling off during use. If the toilet has a water-filling function, you can add an appropriate amount of water to the toilet tank. When filled, it can generate a certain flushing effect, which helps to better clean the inside of the toilet.
- During use: When using, simply open the lid of the toilet. The user can sit on the toilet normally to defecate, and the excrement will directly fall into the black water tank below. This type of toilet is designed to be convenient and does not require complex installation steps. It can meet the usage needs in different scenarios, such as traveling or temporary residence.
- Cleaning after use: After use, press the button on the toilet or operate the corresponding buckle to lower the toilet part. Then remove the black water tank and pour out the excrement inside. When cleaning the black water tank, choose an appropriate location to avoid polluting the environment. After cleaning, rinse the black water tank thoroughly and reinstall it on the toilet body for next use.
Installation-free, One-piece, Lidded Commode-style Portable Toilet
- Preparation before use: This type of portable toilet does not require complex installation operations. Before use, simply take it out from the storage location and place it on a flat ground. Ensure that the ground is level to ensure the stability of the toilet during use and prevent the user from falling due to toilet shaking.
- During use: Since its design is similar to that of an ordinary commode chair, the user can sit on it directly to defecate. The usage method is basically the same as that of a conventional toilet, which is simple and convenient to operate and is suitable for the elderly, those with mobility issues, and other groups of people.
- Cleaning after use: After use, close the lid of the toilet to prevent odor from spreading. If there is a removable bedpan inside the toilet, you can take out the bedpan, pour the excrement into the toilet and flush it away, then rinse the bedpan with clean water and dry it before putting it back in place; if there is no removable bedpan, you can use special cleaning tools and detergents to clean the inside of the toilet to keep it hygienic.
