How to Splice Prefabricated Concrete Houses

Admin September 18, 2026

There are mainly two ways to splice prefabricated concrete houses: longitudinal splicing and transverse splicing. The specific splicing steps and precautions are as follows:

Splicing Methods and Steps

  • Longitudinal Splicing: Splicing two concrete houses along the length direction, suitable for expanding space. The specific steps are as follows: First, determine the splicing part, and decide the splicing position according to actual needs and the house structure; then, handle the joints, using silicone sealant to fill the seams tightly to ensure good sealing and prevent water leakage and air infiltration; next, reinforce the structure, using wooden or metal components for reinforcement and adding insulation materials to enhance the stability and insulation performance of the house; finally, cover the board, applying materials such as paint or tiles on the surface of the reinforced structure to make the splicing part consistent with the overall appearance of the house.
  • Transverse Splicing: Splicing two concrete houses along the width direction, suitable for expanding the building area. The specific steps are as follows: First, determine the splicing part, and cut the roof, walls, and floor to make the splicing part flat; then, handle the joints, also using silicone sealant to fill the seams tightly and adding insulation materials; next, reinforce the structure, using wooden or metal components for reinforcement to improve the overall strength of the house; finally, cover the board, applying decoration materials to make the splicing part aesthetically pleasing and durable.

Precautions

  • Connection Point Handling: When splicing, handle the connection points properly, reduce the gaps, and ensure air circulation. Good connection point handling can avoid problems such as water leakage and air leakage caused by excessively large gaps, while ensuring the air quality inside the house.
  • Levelness and Perpendicularity: Pay attention to maintaining the levelness and perpendicularity during splicing to ensure structural stability. If the deviations in levelness and perpendicularity are too large, it will cause uneven stress on the house, affecting its service life and safety.
  • Structural Reinforcement: The splicing part needs to be reinforced to avoid damage. During the splicing process, since the structure of the house has changed, the splicing part is prone to becoming a weak point in terms of stress. Therefore, reinforcement treatment is necessary to enhance the overall stability of the house.
  • Material Inspection and Safety Regulations: Before construction, inspect the material quality and comply with safety regulations. Using qualified materials can ensure the splicing quality, and complying with safety regulations can avoid safety accidents during the construction process.

In addition, the connection methods of prefabricated components also include steel bar sleeve connection, steel bar grout-anchored lap connection, welding or bolt connection, steel bar mechanical connection, etc. The specific selection should be determined according to the force requirements of the components, construction conditions, and the requirements of building components and fittings.
