How to Set Up a Mobile Toilet Tent

Admin September 27, 2026

The setup of a mobile toilet tent should be carried out according to its type. Here are the setup steps for the common portable folding type and emergency frame type:

I. Portable Folding Changing/Shower Tent (e.g., Shangkaojia Mobile Toilet Tent)

  1. Setup Steps

    • Unfold the Main Structure: Take the tent out of the storage bag and fully spread it out flat. Hold the top supports of the tent with both hands and lift them upwards until the supports automatically unfold and lock (similar to the pop-up or folding logic of ordinary outdoor tents, requiring no additional tools).
    • Secure and Adjust: Check if the four corners at the bottom of the tent are in contact with the ground. If the ground is uneven, gently press or adjust the position. Some models are equipped with anti-slip pads or ground stake holes at the bottom, and short ground stakes can be inserted (not required) to enhance stability.
    • Set Up Functional Areas: Open the inner and outer zippers to ensure that the entrance and the ventilation skylight are in an openable and closable state. The internal clothes-hanging ropes and storage bags are usually pre-installed, and clothes can be hung directly or toiletries can be placed.
  2. Precautions

    • Size and Scene Adaptation: After unfolding, the size is mostly 120×120×190cm, suitable for single-person changing or simple showers. An activity space of 0.5 meters around should be reserved.
    • Material Characteristics: It is advisable to choose silver-coated fabric (for sun protection) or thickened opaque Oxford cloth (to prevent exposure), avoiding transparency under strong light.
    • Storage Skills: When folding, close all zippers first, and then fold it back along the folding marks of the supports to avoid deformation caused by violent squeezing.

II. Emergency Frame-Type Public Toilet Tent (Suitable for Rescue Scenarios)

  1. Setup Steps

    • Site Preparation: Choose an area with a high elevation and good drainage. Clear away stones or sharp objects and then lay a moisture-proof pad (with a thickness of ≥2mm).
    • Frame Assembly: Connect high-strength aluminum alloy or galvanized steel pipes into a rectangular frame according to the instructions. Use detachable connectors (such as bolts or buckles) to fix the key nodes. Ground stakes should be driven into the ground at a 45-degree angle with a depth of ≥15cm to ensure the wind resistance of the frame.
    • Outer Layer Covering: Put the waterproof Oxford cloth or PVC-coated canvas onto the frame from the top and pull it flat downwards. Pay special attention to checking the tightness of the seams (minor leaks can be repaired with matching tape).
  2. Technical Points

    • Modular Expansion: The basic frame of a single toilet cubicle can be expanded into a multi-cubicle combination by adding horizontal connecting rods. The team size requirements should be planned in advance.
    • Quick Setup: Skilled personnel can complete the assembly of a single toilet cubicle within 10 minutes. It is recommended that two people collaborate to improve efficiency.

General Safety Recommendations

  • Avoid Environmental Risks: Avoid setting up the tent in low-lying areas with water accumulation or in an environment with a wind force of ≥5 levels. Regularly check if the ground stakes and connectors are loose.
  • Utilize Auxiliary Resources: Some models provide QR code video instructions. Scan the instructions or the tent label to obtain dynamic demonstrations.
