How to Replace the Bag in a Mobile Toilet
The method for replacing the bag in a mobile toilet depends on the type of bag used. Here are the common types and replacement steps:

If using a fecal bag similar to those used for colostomy diversion
Prepare items Prepare new fecal bags in advance. Choose between one-piece or two-piece bags based on the type of stoma, ensuring the bag size matches the stoma diameter (usually leaving a 1-2mm gap). Also, prepare cleaning supplies (warm water, alcohol-free wipes, stoma-specific skin protectant) and auxiliary tools (scissors, tape measure, clean towel).
Clean the stoma and surrounding skin
- Remove the old fecal bag: For one-piece bags, gently peel them off the skin; for two-piece bags, separate the bag from the baseplate.
- Clean the skin: Use warm water or alcohol-free wipes to gently wipe the stoma and surrounding area, removing feces and residual adhesive. Avoid rubbing vigorously to prevent skin damage. If the skin is sensitive, apply a stoma-specific skin protectant and wait for it to dry before installing the new bag.
Install the new fecal bag
- Cut the bag opening: Place the baseplate of the new fecal bag on the stoma, trace the outline with a pencil, and then cut it out, ensuring the bag opening is 1-2mm larger than the stoma.
- Attach the baseplate: Peel off the adhesive backing, press gently from the center of the stoma outward to attach it, ensuring there are no wrinkles or air bubbles. For two-piece bags, snap the bag onto the baseplate and check for a tight seal; for one-piece bags, simply check the fit of the bag opening.
Check and follow-up precautions
- After installation, gently pull on the bag to ensure there is no risk of detachment. Observe the area around the stoma for redness or pain. If any abnormalities occur, discontinue use and consult a doctor.
- The replacement frequency is generally once every 1-3 days, adjusted based on the amount of feces and the adhesiveness of the baseplate; if leakage occurs, replace it immediately.
- If ulcers or allergies appear on the skin around the stoma, use a leak-proof paste, skin protector, and seek medical attention promptly.
If using a packing bag similar to those used in 304 stainless steel packing toilets
Preliminary preparation Turn off the device's power and empty the waste storage tank to prevent spills and maintain a clean working environment.
Clean and install the new bag
- Open the side cover of the device, locate the packing bag spool, remove the empty spool, and clean any residual debris from the rollers and drive components to prevent bag jamming or tangling.
- Take out a new biodegradable packing bag, insert the spool into the slot, and evenly and smoothly thread it through the drive rollers, ensuring the bag is not skewed or wrinkled.
Test and complete Gently step on the foot pedal or activate the automatic mode to test whether the rollers rotate smoothly and the packing bag can be pulled down steadily. After confirming there is no jamming, close the side cover and turn the power back on. Precautions: Use dedicated compatible packing bags, check that the bag is intact and the length meets the device requirements; regularly clean the waste storage tank to prevent excessive waste from affecting the packing effect; do not insert your hands into the roller gaps during operation to prevent safety hazards.
