How to Rent Container Houses
Admin September 17, 2026
There are multiple ways to rent container houses, including contacting based on the rental target, categorizing by rental type, and considering container rental methods.

Contacting Based on the Rental Target
- Directly Contact Manufacturers: This is a relatively direct and efficient approach. You can communicate directly with container house manufacturers to clarify your needs, such as the size, type, and configuration of the house. You can also gain a detailed understanding of the various details of the rental contract, including rent, lease term, maintenance responsibilities, etc., ensuring a transparent and reasonable rental process.
- Through Real Estate Agencies: Real estate agencies possess a wealth of housing information. They can screen suitable container houses for you based on your needs and assist you in communicating with landlords or relevant parties and handling rental matters.
Categorizing by Rental Type
- Whole-House Rental: Temporary container houses are rented out as a whole to individuals or enterprises. Tenants can decorate and arrange the space according to their own preferences, having independent living or office space. This is suitable for those with high requirements for space independence.
- Partitioned Rental: The house is divided into multiple independent units, each of which is rented out separately. Tenants can choose suitable units according to their own needs, offering high flexibility.
- Managed Rental: The house is entrusted to a professional rental company for management and rental. The company collects the rent on behalf of the landlord, and the rental term and rental income are determined through negotiation between the two parties. This is suitable for landlords who do not have the time or energy to manage the house.
- Cooperative Rental: The house owner cooperates with a rental company or enterprise. The cooperative party decorates and uses the house according to its own needs, and the two parties share the rental income as agreed in the contract, achieving mutual benefit.
- Short-Term Rental: The rental period is relatively short, suitable for temporary use needs, such as exhibitions and event venues. The rent is relatively flexible.
- Long-Term Rental: The rental period is usually one year or longer, suitable for those who need stable housing, such as students and workers. The rent is relatively low, and a rental contract needs to be signed to protect the rights and interests of both parties.
- Shared Rental: Tenants share a container with others, splitting the rent and other expenses. This is suitable for those who want to save on housing expenses but need to share living space.
- Customized Rental: Tenants can design and decorate the container house according to their own needs and preferences, suitable for those with special needs, such as artists and entrepreneurs, but the rent is relatively high.
Container Rental Methods
- Time Charter Containers: There are two methods: 'financial leasing' and 'time-use leasing'. In the former, the container is purchased at the end of the lease term, while in the latter, the container is returned at the end of the lease term.
- Voyage Charter Containers: This includes one-way leasing and round-trip leasing. One-way leasing is for single-trip use from the port of origin to the destination port, requiring the payment of container pickup and return fees. Round-trip leasing is not limited to a simple round trip, and the lease term is not restricted, but the return location is strictly limited.
- Flexible Container Rental: The rental period is usually one year or more. The daily container pickup and return quantities and locations are determined, and the rent is calculated based on the number of days of use.
