How to Move Container Houses In

Admin September 16, 2026

The method of moving container houses in depends on the type of house and the actual situation, mainly including the relocation of single container houses, multiple-container combined houses, as well as the selection of transportation methods and precautions.

Relocation of Single Container Houses

Using a crane for lifting is a common method. During operation, precisely connect the lifting device of the crane to the lifting holes or lifting rings of the container, ensuring a firm connection before lifting steadily. During transportation to the designated location, maintain the stability of the lifting to prevent the container from swaying. Upon arrival at the destination, slowly lower the container and accurately place it in the predetermined position by adjusting the position and angle of the crane.

Relocation of Multiple-Container Combined Houses

First, remove the connecting components between the containers, such as bolts and connectors, to make each container independent. Then, lift and relocate each independent container separately, using the same lifting method as for single container houses. After reaching the new site, reassemble and connect them according to the original design, ensuring that the connections between the containers are firm and well-sealed to guarantee the overall structural stability of the house.

Selection of Transportation Methods

  • Flatbed Trailer Transportation: This is relatively common. Fix the container house on a flatbed trailer and transport it to the destination by road. Flatbed trailers come in different specifications to accommodate container houses of various sizes. During transportation, use professional securing devices such as ropes and chains to ensure that the container is firmly fixed and prevent it from sliding or tipping over during transit.
  • Using Large Trucks: For container houses that are relatively small in size and light in weight, large trucks can also be used for transportation. However, the truck bed should be appropriately modified, such as adding anti-slip mats and reinforcing the bed structure, to ensure that the container is placed stably and safely.
  • Professional Logistics Companies: There are many logistics companies specializing in the transportation of special cargoes. They have specialized equipment and experience in transporting container houses. They can formulate a transportation plan according to the specific situation of the house, including selecting appropriate transportation vehicles and planning routes, to ensure a safe and efficient transportation process.
  • Combination of Waterway and Land Transportation: If the rural area is close to a waterway and has convenient transportation, the container house can first be transported by waterway to a nearby port and then transferred to the village using land transportation vehicles. However, this method is relatively complex and requires good coordination of the connections between different transportation links to ensure that the container is not damaged during transfer.

Other Precautions

During the relocation process, pay attention to the selection of transportation vehicles. Choose appropriate flatbed transportation vehicles according to the size and weight of the container house to ensure transportation safety. Prepare the foundation at the new site in advance to ensure that the ground is level and sturdy, meeting the installation requirements of the container house. After the relocation is completed, reconnect the water and electricity and debug the equipment to ensure that the container house can be used normally.
