How to Make Stairs for Container Houses

Admin September 17, 2026

The methods for making stairs for container houses vary depending on the type. Common types include external stairs for container houses, stairs for packing-box units, and box-type spiral stairs. Here are the specific production points:

External Stairs for Container Houses

  1. Material Preparation: Prepare steel bars, cement, crushed stones, mortar, stair treads, scaffolding, etc.
  2. Construction Steps:
    • Planning and Design: Determine the position and length of the stairs. Select an appropriate stair type and form based on the height and structural characteristics of the container house.
    • Construction Preparation: Clear the site, removing obstacles and debris. Use tools such as hammers and marking instruments to locate and mark the stair position.
    • Foundation Construction: Excavate a foundation pit that conforms to the stair dimensions, ensuring the pit bottom is level. Pre-embed steel bars according to the design requirements, paying attention to the diameter and spacing of the steel bars. After pre-embedding, perform concrete pouring to ensure uniformity and compactness.
    • Stair Installation: Install the stair beams to ensure their stability and load-bearing capacity. Install the stair treads to ensure they are firm and stable. Install the stair handrails to ensure they are stable and comfortable.
  3. Precautions: Construct strictly according to the design requirements to ensure stability and safety. Pay attention to personnel safety during construction and strengthen protection. Keep the site clean and tidy, and clear away garbage in a timely manner. Coordinate and cooperate with other construction operations. Conduct acceptance checks after completion to ensure the quality meets the standards.

Stairs for Packing-Box Units

The stair layout is determined according to the specific design of the packing box. It can be designed as a double-run with two steps up and one step down or one step up and two steps down, or as a single-run with one step up and one step down. The stairs mainly consist of treads and platforms. For a single-run stair, after wrapping the channel steel around the tread, the width is 1.3m, the platform width is 1.2m, and the height is 1.45m. For a double-run stair, the width of the small tread is 1.3m, the width of the large stair tread is 2.85m, the turning platform width is 2m, and the height is 1.6m.

Box-Type Spiral Stairs

  1. Arc Plate Production: Draw the inner arc radius of the spiral stair on an iron plate, calculate the rotation angle, and evenly distribute auxiliary tooling plates welded on the inner arc radius. Use a plate rolling machine to process the arc-shaped stair arc plates and calculate the slope value.
  2. Install the Inner Arc Plate: When installing the first inner arc plate, use two or more chain blocks. After pressing it tightly against the auxiliary tooling plate and setting the height, add welding points to secure it.
  3. Install the Lower Bottom Plate: First, install the lower bottom plate, cut it into small pieces, and spot-weld it to the bottom of the inner arc plate. Adjust the angle and use a crane and hook to form the arc of the lower bottom plate.
  4. Install the Outer Arc Plate: Use a plate with the same width as the lower bottom plate to spot-weld it on the inner arc. Install the outer arc plate, position it, and then press it tightly with chain blocks. Draw the tread lines according to the drawings to ensure they are level.
  5. Install the Treads and Outer Box-Type Inner Arc Plates: After installing the treads, install the outer box-type inner arc plates. First, draw lines for positioning and use chain blocks to pull them tight and spot-weld them in place. The installation methods for the outer lower bottom plate and the inner arc lower bottom plate are the same, and the outer arc plates are also installed in the same way as the inner outer arc plates.
  6. Install the Upper Cover Plates: After the stairs are formed, install the inner and outer upper cover plates. Do not cut the upper cover plates into small pieces. Use gas cutting to remove a small part to make the upper cover sink into the box, and then spot-weld it.
