How to Make Prefabricated Houses with Insulation

Admin September 19, 2026

The construction of prefabricated houses with insulation requires comprehensive work in aspects such as exterior wall insulation, roof insulation, and window and door design, along with proper material selection and safety precautions.

Exterior Wall Insulation

Integrated prefabricated exterior wall insulation construction is crucial. Insulation materials are pre-combined with structural protective layers and decorative surface layers in the factory to create finished exterior wall panels, which are then transported to the construction site and fixed to the main structure of the building's exterior walls using anchors and auxiliary bonding methods. Common methods include hanging-type exterior wall insulation and insulation board plastering exterior wall insulation. The former involves hanging insulation materials on prefabricated exterior wall panels, while the latter involves pasting insulation materials to form an insulation layer. Insulation materials such as polyurethane, extruded polystyrene boards, and polystyrene boards can be selected. These materials must possess excellent insulation performance and durability to effectively prevent heat transfer and reduce indoor-outdoor heat exchange.

Roof Insulation

The construction technique of prefabricated roof insulation integrated panels is employed, featuring modular assembly construction that eliminates the need for on-site insulation layer and protective layer construction procedures. The construction process includes detailed design, where the house structure and insulation requirements are considered for comprehensive design; component production, where insulation integrated panels are manufactured in the factory according to design requirements; transportation and stacking, with care taken to protect the components from damage; construction preparation, involving inspection of on-site conditions and preparation of construction tools; lifting and assembly, where insulation integrated panels are lifted to the roof and assembled; detail treatment, involving sealing and waterproofing of roof edges and areas where pipes penetrate; and inspection and acceptance to ensure construction quality meets standards. Roof insulation must also consider waterproofing and ventilation performance, with proper drainage paths set up to prevent water accumulation from damaging the insulation layer.

Window and Door Design

Reasonable window and door design is crucial for insulation. Choose efficient thermal insulation windows and curtains to reduce heat loss through windows. Thermal insulation windows can adopt double or triple glazing with inert gas filling between the panes to improve insulation performance. During window and door installation, pay attention to sealing performance, using sealants or sealing strips to fill gaps between windows/doors and walls to prevent cold air infiltration and ensure stable indoor temperatures.

Construction Preparation and Precautions

Before construction, check the quality certificates and inspection reports of all materials to ensure their appearance quality and component dimensions meet requirements. Prepare construction tools such as gloves, rulers, protective clothing, masks, and specialized cutting tools. When cutting insulation materials, cut an extra half centimeter to one centimeter according to the gap width to ensure a better fit in the gaps. Pay attention to safety during construction, wear safety harnesses for high-altitude work, and wear protective masks for cutting operations to prevent accidents.
