How to Make Prefabricated House Wall Panels

Admin September 18, 2026

The construction of prefabricated house wall panels requires selecting corresponding methods based on the type of wall panels (such as prefabricated ALC wall panels and prefabricated concrete wall panels) and following general optimization measures to ensure quality.

I. Construction Steps for Prefabricated ALC Wall Panels

  1. Line Setting and Cleaning: Clean the installation site before construction to ensure a flat and solid ground, providing a reference for subsequent positioning.
  2. Installation and Adjustment: During installation, control the vertical joint width to about 5mm and keep it consistent from top to bottom. Use a 2m leveling ruler to check the wall flatness and make fine adjustments with a special crowbar to meet requirements.
  3. Joint Treatment: Clean the working surface at the bottom of the ALC panel, push and fill mortar with a narrow trowel until it overflows, and smooth both sides to ensure full joints and prevent cracking later.
  4. Wooden Wedge Repair: After the mortar reaches the design strength (about 7 days), remove the wooden wedges and repair the filling positions with the same type of cement mortar to ensure structural stability.
  5. End Treatment: Apply mortar on both sides of the installed panel end, and fill half of the groove of the panel to be installed with mortar to enhance connection strength.
  6. Connection and Fixation: Snap center lines and width lines along the floor, wall, and ceiling. Fix the panels to the base structure with connectors, with spacing in accordance with design specifications. Metal accessories should be anti-corrosion treated.
  7. Splice Installation: Install in sequence from one end of the main wall to the other according to the layout drawing. When there is a door opening, install from the door opening to both sides to ensure integrity.
  8. Verticality Adjustment: Align the upper and lower openings of the wall panels with the installation lines, reserve an installation gap of 30-60mm at the lower end, drive in wooden wedges to tighten them, and select solid rib positions to avoid uneven local stress.
  9. Anti-Cracking Treatment: Fill the joints between panels with adhesive material, scrape and hook the extruded material flat, paste fiberglass cloth in the joint groove, level the outer side with mortar, and paste anti-cracking mesh to reduce the risk of cracking.
  10. Finished Product Protection: After installation, clean the wall surface and properly wrap or fence off the wall panels for protection to avoid damage during subsequent construction.

II. Construction Steps for Prefabricated Concrete Wall Panels

  1. Detailed Design: Before construction, deepen the drawings in combination with BIM technology, coordinate with PC component manufacturers for production according to the schedule, and plan transportation routes to reduce on-site adjustments.
  2. Surveying and Line Setting: Check the connecting reinforcing bars, correct the misaligned reinforcing bars, level with pads, and set up mortar compartments to ensure installation accuracy.
  3. Hoisting and Installation: When hoisting prefabricated interior wall panels, hook and lift them. Stop for 15 seconds when the component is 1 meter above the ground to check the lifting points. Normally lift to 1 meter above the working surface and slow down the descent. Guide the wall down by hand, observe the alignment of the connecting reinforcing bars with a mirror, and slowly descend to the pads before installing diagonal supports.
  4. Calibration and Hook Removal: Calibrate the deviation between the component and the installation position line, use a leveling ruler to check the prefabricated wall, and then remove the hook to ensure verticality and flatness.

III. General Construction Optimization Measures

  1. The construction blueprints should be deepened a second time to clarify the interface between prefabricated wall panels and masonry and reduce cutting waste.
  2. Use lightweight gypsum mortar for plastering to avoid cracking and hollowing.
  3. Design additional waterproofing measures for exterior walls to prevent leakage.
  4. Strengthen control over secondary slotting for water and electricity in prefabricated wall panels to reduce damage to the panels.
