How to Make a Prefabricated House Model

Admin September 18, 2026

There are mainly two methods for making prefabricated house models: the original house model and the creative house model. Here are the specific introductions:

Method for Making the Original House Model

  1. Making the Cylindrical Main Body: Prepare a strip of paper measuring 28*7 centimeters. Use a knife to evenly cut it into horizontal strips of the same width, being careful not to cut all the way through. Then, roll up the paper strip and cut a notch at an appropriate position. This notch will serve as the door and window. Next, glue the rolled-up circle onto a piece of cardboard to form the main part of the house.
  2. Making the Roof: Create six fan-shaped cardboard pieces measuring 5.5*6.5 centimeters. Glue them together one by one, leaving some gaps during the gluing process to form a slope and simulate the shape of a roof. Then, find a piece of sawdust strip and cut it into fine sawdust. Apply glue evenly on the surface of the cone and then stick the cut sawdust all over the cone's surface to make it look more like a real roof. Finally, place the made cone-shaped roof on top of the cylindrical main body.
  3. Adding Details: Use disposable chopsticks to make a door and glue it to the reserved door position on the main body of the house. Pick up a stone and a branch, glue them together to make a firewood pile, and place it near the house. Pick up a few small pieces of paper, make them into the shape of buckets, use branches to make a rack, and hang the buckets on the rack to increase the realism of the scene. Finally, paint the entire base green to create a natural environment around the house.

Method for Making the Creative House Model

  1. Building the Basic Structure: Use cardboard to make triangular shapes for the roof, reserving positions for doors and windows during the making process. Then, glue the various structural parts of the house together and attach a base plate to give the house a stable foundation. Finally, seal the roof to complete the basic framework construction of the house.
  2. Surface Treatment: Tear some pieces of shredded kraft paper and evenly glue them onto the surface of the house to wrap the cut cardboard. This can make the surface of the house flatter and also prepare for subsequent decoration.
  3. Decorating the Walls: Draw small rectangles of the same size as the surface of the house, cut them out with scissors, and then neatly glue them onto the surface of the house like bricks to simulate the effect of a brick wall.
  4. Decorating the Doors and Windows: Make some wide strips of long cardboard, use toothpicks to decorate the windows to increase their three-dimensionality and details. Then, use cardboard strips to decorate the edges of the doors and windows to make them more aesthetically pleasing.
  5. Creating the Roof Tile Effect: After removing the surface kraft paper from the cardboard, cut it into appropriate sizes and shapes and glue it onto the roof of the house to simulate the effect of roof tiles. Finally, paint the house according to the design requirements to make the entire model more vivid and realistic.
