How to Make a Mobile Toilet

Admin September 21, 2026

A mobile toilet can be made using a water storage bucket or tank and a pallet, through steps such as installing mobile components, building a frame, and setting up functional modules.

Making a Mobile Toilet Using a Water Storage Bucket

  1. Basic Modification: Take a water storage bucket from home and use an angle grinder to split it in half lengthwise to serve as the main structure of the toilet. Fix universal wheels at the four corners of a wooden board for easy mobility. Obtain several wooden strips and secure them to the upper side of the bucket with self-tapping screws to increase the height, providing space for installing other components later.
  2. Building the Frame and Walls: Cut an opening on the side of the water storage bucket for the door. Install sponge strips on both sides of the opening to form a door frame, providing sealing and cushioning. Insert plastic soft panels between the wooden strips to create raised walls, enhancing the privacy and stability of the toilet. Place the upper half of the water storage bucket on top of the wooden strips to form a roof. Apply white waterproof paint to the wooden strips to prevent wood decay from moisture.
  3. Installing Functional Components: Use foam strips to拼接 (assemble) discarded honeycomb wooden boards to make a simple door. Cut a hole at the bottom of the bucket and install a drain pipe to form a floor drain for easy sewage discharge. Cut holes on the side and bottom of a plastic bucket and install direct connectors. Place the plastic bucket on the roof to form a small water storage device for storing flushing water. Connect the bath heater made of water pipes, install a three-way connector below the inlet pipe and connect it to a showerhead to provide bathing functionality. Place a toilet and install a water tank, securing it with glass glue. Connect the drain pipe to a sewage bucket. Horizontally connect a water pipe to the three-way connector of the outlet pipe and extend it to the doorway as the inlet pipe for a sink, integrating multiple functions.

Making a Mobile Toilet Using a Water Storage Tank and a Pallet

  1. Installing Mobile Devices: Use tools to fix a universal wheel at each of the four corners of the bottom of the pallet, enabling the entire structure to move flexibly.
  2. Placing the Water Storage Tank: Place the water storage tank on the pallet and determine its position and fixing method according to needs, ensuring that the tank does not shake or tip over during movement.
  3. Completing the Functions: According to actual needs, install sanitary fixtures such as a toilet and a sink on the pallet and connect the corresponding water pipes and drainage pipes to achieve basic toilet and washing functions. At the same time, storage space can be set up for convenient storage of sanitary products.
