How to Load Container Houses onto Vehicles
Admin September 15, 2026
Loading container houses onto vehicles primarily involves hoisting or automated loading methods, depending on the type of house and the transportation vehicle.

I. Loading Methods for Foldable Container Houses
- Automated Loading: Some foldable container houses, such as the Tri-Tainer developed by Excalibur in Canada, are equipped with automatic lifting systems and can be directly loaded onto transportation vehicles using automated equipment. This method eliminates the need for complex hoisting, offers high loading efficiency, and is suitable for long-distance transportation or scenarios requiring frequent relocation.
- Hoisting Method: For foldable houses without automated systems, cranes or forklifts are required for loading. During hoisting, ensure that the steel wire ropes are secure. Lift the main frame of the house, unfold it steadily, and place support rods in the middle of the container to maintain stability. Then, hoist the house to the predetermined position and lower it when ensuring no one is around.
II. Loading Methods for Fixed Container Houses
- Crane Loading: Fixed container houses are usually larger in size and require cranes for loading. The crane's lifting capacity must meet the weight requirements of the house (at least 15,000 pounds), and its arm width and strength must be sufficient to avoid damaging the house or the transportation vehicle. During loading, lift the house above the transportation vehicle, lower it slowly, and secure it onto the chassis or trailer.
- Forklift Loading: If the house is smaller in size or lighter in weight, a forklift can be used for loading. However, ensure that the appropriate type of forklift (not a warehouse forklift) is selected and that its arm width and strength are adequate. During loading, push the house onto the forklift tines, secure it, lift it slowly, and move it onto the transportation vehicle.
III. Loading Precautions
- Balanced Loading: Regardless of the loading method used, ensure that the center of gravity of the house is balanced within the transportation vehicle to prevent vehicle tilting or rollover due to center-of-gravity shift.
- Secure Fixing: After loading, use chains, straps, and other tools to secure the house onto the transportation vehicle to prevent shaking or detachment during transportation.
- Safe Operation: Non-professionals should never stand under the house or the crane to avoid safety accidents.
