How to Install Container Houses

Admin September 15, 2026

The installation of container houses requires selecting the appropriate method based on their type, mainly divided into three types: assembled, foldable, and packaged. The specific installation steps are as follows:

Assembled Container Houses

  1. Bottom Frame Installation: On a flat ground or workbench, connect the bottom corners of the container to the bottom beams using hexagon socket bolts, without tightening them initially. After adjusting to ensure the diagonal difference of the bottom frame is ≤3mm, tighten the bolts.
  2. Secondary Beam and Floor Installation: Install π-shaped secondary beams according to the positioning holes on the long beams, securing them with self-tapping screws and round-head drill tail screws. Lay the floor baseboard along the 6-meter direction, pre-drill holes at both ends, and cut corners according to the chalk line. After marking the centerline of the π-shaped beams, lay the floor, aligning the joints with the centerline. Secure with cross-flat-head dovetail screws after snapping the chalk line, with a nail spacing of 300-350mm.
  3. Floor Treatment and Floor Adhesive Installation: Grind the floor joints as a whole, apply PVC special floor adhesive, wait for 10-15 minutes, then lay the floor adhesive, expelling air. If possible, perform welding treatment on the joints.

Foldable Container Houses

  1. Main Body Unfolding: Check the stability of the steel wire ropes, lift the main frame steadily, and unfold it. Place support rods in the middle of the container to maintain stability.
  2. Wall Installation: Push open one wall and tighten it with fastening screws. Then push open the wall with doors and windows and tighten the screws.
  3. Lifting and Positioning: Lift the folded container house to the predetermined position and lower it after ensuring no one is around.

Packaged Container Houses

  1. Foundation Preparation: According to requirements, dig trenches and lay foundations (brick or concrete foundations), embed drainage pipes, and select appropriate lifting points.
  2. Frame Installation: First, embed the chassis and secure it with expansion screws. When assembling the steel structure, tighten the square tube columns and steel beams with screws, checking for verticality and straightness. Install the steel beams one by one, supporting them with square tube columns and adjusting their positions with a plumb line.
  3. Wall Panel and Roof Panel Installation: After the floor installation is complete, reserve space at the door and window positions and install the exterior wall panels. After the exterior walls are completed, install the roof panels and treat the reserved roof positions.
  4. Door, Window, and Concealed Works Installation: Ensure that doors and windows are installed tightly without gaps, and windows require waterproofing treatment. Strictly inspect concealed works such as water and electricity installation, moisture-proofing, and waterproofing to avoid future problems.
