How to Fold Up a Portable Toilet

Admin October 22, 2026

The method for folding up a portable toilet varies depending on its type. Here are the specific steps:

I. Folding Process for Outdoor Portable Toilets

  1. Immediate Post-Use Handling

    • Seal the Garbage Bag: When using built-in specialized garbage bags or collection bags, immediately tie the bag tightly after use to prevent leakage of waste. If the device is equipped with a sealing cover, close it promptly to block the spread of odors.
    • Waste Disposal:
      • Portable Toilet/Collection Bag: After adding a coagulant or deodorant, seal it and place it in a dedicated garbage bag for disposal.
      • Biodegradable System: Discharge the liquid according to the instructions into designated areas, and have the solid portion recycled by a professional agency or disposed of as per product instructions.
  2. Cleaning and Drying the Device

    • Clean the Toilet Bowl/Inner Bucket: Wipe it with a damp cloth combined with dish detergent or a specialized cleaner. For stubborn stains, use a cleaner containing decontamination and disinfection ingredients, or a natural combination of baking soda and white vinegar; avoid directly rinsing electronic components.
    • Complete Drying: After cleaning, ensure that key areas such as folding joints and around electronic components are thoroughly dry to prevent bacterial growth or metal rusting.
  3. Folding and Storage

    • Folding Toilet: Fold it according to the design structure and lock the buckles to ensure stability.
    • Packing Toilet: After folding, place it in a dedicated storage bag, paying attention to the weight limit to avoid damaging the device due to overloading.

II. Folding Process for Simple-Setup Outdoor Toilets

  1. Disassemble Components

    • Remove Soft Parts: First, take off the nylon cloth, tent, and other coverings, seal the garbage bags, and take them away for disposal.
    • Separate Hard Structures: Disassemble the C-shaped seat ring, four load-bearing tubes, or wooden sticks, and store them separately. If alternative items such as stools or mineral water bottles are used, they should also be properly placed.
  2. Check and Organize

    • Confirm that all components are undamaged and not missing, especially checking for looseness at the connections.
    • Store small parts (such as screws and buckles) together to avoid loss.

Precautions:

  • Before folding, ensure that the waste has been properly disposed of to avoid environmental pollution.
  • When cleaning, prefer to use neutral cleaners to prevent corrosion of materials.
  • Before long-term storage, it is recommended to regularly check the stability of the folding joints to extend the service life of the device.
