How to Flush Female Portable Toilet

Admin October 06, 2026

The flushing methods for female portable toilets mainly include manual flushing, automatic sensor flushing, waterless or water-saving flushing, and high-pressure air-water flushing, as detailed below:

Manual flushing is a relatively common method, primarily triggered by pressing buttons, pulling levers, or stepping on pedals. Among them, pedal-operated flushing uses mechanical lever principles for drainage. Users simply step on the pedal with their foot to complete the flushing operation, avoiding direct contact between hands and the flushing device, making it more hygienic. The water consumption is approximately 3-6 liters per flush. Button-operated flushing involves pressing a button to automatically release water from the tank. Some button-operated flushing devices allow the water volume to be adjusted according to actual needs, with a general water consumption of 4-8 liters per flush.

Automatic sensor flushing is typically used in high-end portable public toilets. It employs infrared sensors to detect when a user has finished using the toilet. After the user leaves, the sensor receives a signal and automatically triggers the flushing device. This method does not require manual operation by the user, making it more convenient to use. It also reduces unhygienic situations caused by forgetting to flush, with relatively low water consumption of about 2-5 liters per flush.

Waterless or water-saving flushing methods offer significant advantages in environmental protection and resource conservation. Foam sealing is one such method, which uses foam to cover excrement, forming a sealed layer to prevent odor emission. It does not require water for flushing, consuming only about 0.1 liters of water per use to generate foam and a small amount of foaming agent. Vacuum suction operates similarly to the principle of airplane toilets, quickly removing waste through negative pressure. This method has extremely low water consumption, requiring only 0.5-1 liters per use.

In addition, some portable toilets use high-pressure air-water flushing. This method utilizes the combined action of high-pressure water flow and gas to vigorously flush the inner walls of the toilet bowl. Due to the high pressure, the flushing force is strong and covers a wide area, achieving good flushing results with less water. It only requires one-fifth of the water used in ordinary flushing to clean the toilet bowl.
