How to Construct Prefabricated Panel Slope Protection for Houses
The use of prefabricated panels for slope protection on houses is not a mainstream approach. Conventional slope protection materials mainly include stone, concrete slope protection bricks, etc. If prefabricated panels are to be used, the following general slope protection logic can be referred to, combined with the characteristics of the prefabricated panels, for construction. However, it should be noted that their applicability requires professional assessment.

Foundation Treatment and Site Preparation
Before slope protection construction, the slope surface should be thoroughly cleaned to remove weeds, tree roots, loose soil and stones, and other debris, ensuring that the slope surface is flat and solid. If there are cracks or weak layers on the slope surface, reinforcement treatment is required, such as using grouting or replacement methods to enhance the stability of the slope surface. At the same time, based on the height and slope of the slope protection, determine whether drainage facilities such as drainage ditches and weep holes are needed to prevent slope instability caused by rainwater scouring. Foundation treatment is the key to slope protection engineering and is directly related to the long-term stability of the slope protection.
Selection and Adaptation of Prefabricated Panels
Prefabricated panels should be selected according to the actual needs of the slope protection in terms of specifications and materials. For low-lying slope protection, lightweight prefabricated panels with moderate strength can be chosen; for high and steep slope protection, prefabricated panels with high strength and good durability are required. The size and shape of the prefabricated panels should match the slope of the slope protection to ensure that they fit closely against the slope surface after installation, reducing gaps and preventing soil and water loss. At the same time, the quality of the prefabricated panels should be checked to ensure that there are no cracks, defects, or other flaws that could affect the slope protection effect.
Installation and Fixing
During installation, start from the foot of the slope and lay the prefabricated panels layer by layer from bottom to top. Appropriate gaps should be left between each layer of prefabricated panels to facilitate the filling of crushed stones or mortar, enhancing overall stability. The fixing method of the prefabricated panels can be selected according to the actual situation, such as using anchor bolt fixing or concrete pouring fixing. Anchor bolt fixing is suitable for slope protections with steep slopes, connecting the prefabricated panels tightly to the slope surface through anchor bolts; concrete pouring fixing is suitable for slope protections with gentle slopes, fixing the prefabricated panels on the slope surface by pouring concrete.
Post-construction Maintenance and Inspection
After the completion of the slope protection engineering, regular inspections and maintenance are required to promptly detect and address issues such as cracks and looseness. Especially after the rainy season or extreme weather conditions, inspections should be strengthened to ensure the stability of the slope protection. At the same time, the surface of the slope protection should be kept clean to prevent the growth of weeds from affecting the slope protection effect.
