How to Connect Wires for Mobile Toilets

Admin October 08, 2026

Connecting wires for mobile toilets requires strict adherence to safety standards. The core steps and precautions are as follows:

1. Ensure Compliance with Electrical Qualifications

Electrical connection work must be carried out by units or individuals with formal electrical construction qualifications, and operators must hold an electrician's certificate. When signing contracts, clarify the division of electrical responsibilities to avoid disputes or safety accidents caused by improper operation.

2. Match Wire Specifications with Equipment

  • Power Cord Inspection: Verify that the specifications of the power cord that comes with the mobile toilet (such as cross-sectional area and rated current) meet the power requirements of the equipment to prevent overheating or short circuits due to undersized wire diameters.
  • Temporary Cable Selection: If extending the power cord is necessary, use waterproof and sun-resistant dedicated cables (such as YJV or RVV types). When the length exceeds 10 meters, install a leakage protector to prevent electrical leakage risks.

3. Ensure Reliable Grounding

  • Grounding Requirements: All mobile toilets must be connected to a grounding body via a grounding wire, with a grounding resistance of ≤4Ω to ensure that current can be quickly directed into the ground in case of leakage.
  • Grounding Body Installation: Use galvanized steel pipes (diameter ≥50mm) or angle steel (50×50mm), buried at a depth of not less than 0.6 meters, and regularly test the grounding effectiveness (recommended quarterly).

4. Standardize Power Box Installation

  • Location Selection: The distribution box should be installed in a dry and ventilated location, away from water sources and flammable materials, and the box body should be equipped with a rain cover.
  • Internal Configuration: The rated current of the air switch should match the equipment power. It is strictly prohibited to use sockets to directly connect high-power equipment (such as air conditioners, electric water heaters) to prevent overloading and fire hazards.

5. Regular Inspections and Maintenance

  • Daily Checks: Before daily use, inspect wire connections for looseness and cable outer layers for damage. After rainy weather, focus on checking for electrical leakage.
  • Abnormal Handling: If line aging, equipment overheating, or unusual odors are detected, immediately stop use and contact a professional electrician for repairs. Do not disassemble or continue using the equipment yourself.

Summary: Connecting wires for mobile toilets must prioritize safety, strictly following standards from qualification verification and wire selection to grounding protection and daily maintenance to effectively reduce electrical risks.
